Development on Mortal Kombat 5 is expected to begin in about 2 months, aiming for an arcade release sometime in 1999; big changes to the gameplay format of the series are being considered. Also, John Tobias is considering a 2nd installment to the Mythologies series, evolving around the past(of another charecter, in 3D this time around, for a home release in 1999. Nothing further is known about these two projects yet, since neither of them have actually begun development as of this update. We should have more solid information on them within the next few months.
