The third and last known DLC character for Mortal Kombat (2011) has been released as a render to the community. Rain debuted first in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 as a purple ninja tease in the arcade game's attract mode. The character was never playable until the console versions. While this is the last known DLC character, there is at least one character left that NetherRealm Studios has not announced the name of yet.



As has been the case with the previous two characters, Skarlet and Kenshi, there will also be a free compatibility pack released in conjunction with the Rain DLC character. The free compatibility packs have featured free retro skins and Rain's release appears to follow in this manner. NRS Community Manager, Rigo Cortes has been teasing on about who's skins are being included in the pack, mentioning "blueberry and lime". Anyone care to guess who he could be referring to?

Looks good. Can't wait to FINALLY get Rain in Mk 9. As for DLC: Blueberry = ? Lime= Hopefully MK 3 Sonya

I really like Rains design in this game. Excited to see how he plays. As for the two classic costumes. Blueberry and Lime? Maybe it's Jax (purple pants, blueberry) and as mentioned above, Sonya (green pants and top, lime) EDIT: I'll just drop this here.

Would rather johnny cage mk1 rather than a Jax classic. But oh well, if it is free I'll get it

Agreed!!! but I can't possibly think of how Johnny Cage could be a lime or blueberry.... Anyways, Rain looks great! They better reveal the fourth dlc character in his trailer too, and it better be Tanya! lol

It is definitely sonya and jax (probably mk3 skins). The two characters are always connected. Current skin packs prove that!

I highly doubt they would just do them two and not mileena. Mist likely lime is sonya. I think depending on the classic will determine the other person. Mk3 it will be Jax and sonya, mk1 it will cage and sonya. Most likely it will be mk3, since I think that is the more popular sonya outfit.

Blueberry could refer to Raiden, but it wouldn't make sense if NRS is releasing him with Sonya (assuming Lime refers to her).

More Ninja outfits? I love the ninjas but... Just give me MK1 Johnny Cage and Raiden already. But everyone want to know my guess? It will be UMK3 Sub-Zero [Masked] and Reptile. I called it... Remember. And Rain looks simply amazing, never been a fan but he looks really good with this new design. Just hope his gameplay style is improved too. Can't wait to see the trailer. I'm even more curious to see it in action than I was with Kenshi. lol

I agree, only care for unmasked Sub for Cyber Sub and the most of the non ninja characters now so i can use them more but i think it will be MK3 ninjas at the end or Stryker and Sonya.

blueberry and lime... Cyber Sub-Zero has been one of the least popular characters since Taven and Daegon. If NRS releases MK3 Sub for Cyber Sub, all that would change i can assure you. I will ****ing MASTER Cyber Sub, if i get that costume as for lime...non other than MK3 or MK1 Sonya Blade...this is one of the most requested costumes since the game released. One of my personal faves as well. Sonya has went through a Military-Influenced costume crisis since MK4...Lets bring back that sexy aerobic gear! If blueberry isn't MK3 Sub...i pray that it's "BloodSport" MK1 Johnny Cage

Im know its ridiculous bc theyve already gotten alternates, but do to there popularity and my love for the characters I'm thinking its subzero and reptile/jade. Sub is damn near a guarantee.

^They will not release a pair of outfits from different games. That's for sure. So I really doubt you're right on that one... Stryker on Cage's place would be possible.

The giant leaked text file for mk9, (the one with all the intros & endings etc.) had the females ninjas listed with MKII and MK3 alt. costumes. So I'm going solely off of that.

No couldn't be cybersmoke, he would have a different move list then. It just wouldn't make much sense. We have enough ninja and cybers as it is.

I liked the MK3 Sonya. I'm not even going to assume what blueberry means because chances are...We are all wrong. So I won't even try. lol

Why do so many discount the obvious? They are doing the MK2 klassics. So it's either mk2 sub and reptile OR mk2 kitana and jade. While I would love to see ALL the classic skins for everyone, I think it would be nice to have consistency with the mk2 ninjas first before moving on to the mk3 skins.

They need to stop with the Classic Skins and just release alternate costumes that never made it into the game's release. I can understand the classic costumes for the ninja-like characters.... But most of the others are pretty close to their original look. Or close enough. Johnny doesn't need one, Stryker doesn't need one, Raiden doesn't need one, Sindel doesn't need one, Kano just needs to gtfo, Baraka doesn't need one, Kung Lao and Kang don't need one, Jax doesn't need one... blah blah blah.

@Matt: they're mostly adding them to get people to DL the compatibility packs. It's kinda sad that you gotta bribe people to get them to DL shit that makes the game better, but whatever. That said, I'd like to see classic skins for Sonya, Jax and Kano.

I'd like Sonya and Jax. Had enough ninja costumes already. It'd be interesting if they did that pair since it they would have to make two new damage models. The other costume packs all had the same damage model on the 'like' sets.

Actually, they've been going with male ninja suits. I wouldn't be surprised if it's UMK3 ninja suits for CSZ and Reptile.

You ALREADY got HUMAN Reptile: Why does everyone assume that the Klassic costumes, that come with the with the compatibility packs, are for people that ALREADY have Klassic Costumes??? Why the hell would they waste their time on that, when they could do 2 NEW Klassic costumes for 2 OTHER characters, like Sonya and Jax.

Because they have an appreciated history of doing what their fans want?
