White Portal?

If you turn on MK:D, and let it sit there for acouple seconds, after the cut scene, you will see a split screne preview of kombat, konquest, puzzle kombat, and chess kombat. Right at the end of this little video, a mid-aged Sujinko runs into a white portal with skulls floating around in it. He looked to be in the nexus, however, I don't remember any white portal ever in the game. Any ideas anyone?

They were probably just testing out the Realms, before they added colors. Its hard to explain, but people who are in coding and graphics would know what I'm talking about. Lets use Halo for example, when you go to edit the elites armor, you'll notice its a white armor, not blue, thats because the script assigns the colors, coordinating with the rank.. its hard to describe.

I know exactly what you are talking about. However, everything else was perfect, well how it is now. And the portal is detailed. It has little, soul like faces floating around inside of it. It might have been an idea for a realm that got trashed, but I don't understand why they would leave that in the opening preview of the game... Or like you said, maybe they didn't know what colors they wanted to make the portals yet.

EDIT: To 7th: I don't really know. I think there was a portal to the left and right of it, however, I could be mistaken.

that's quan chi's realm, there are a couple of krypt items showing the concept. whether or not its playable is another story

Well, they shown other things in the previews, and in the game itself, for example: Sektor Concept Art, Loading Screens showing Ashrah in Puzzle Kombat. Movie of Kira in Puzzle Kombat

Other items that they revealed was a fully rendered Sareena!! Everyone has kinda forgotten about her since the first few days... Wonder why they would make a full 3D model of her if she wasn't unlockable?!? From all the concept art I am guessing that Sareena and Sektor are the two unlockables...

There's a havik puzzle character in one of the movies when you highlight puzzle kombat in the main menu I think.. or one of the movies if you let it sit.

but at the wait screen in between puzzle kombat stages, they show almost all of the characters, whether you can play as them or not, doing something.

That render was used for MK Tournament Edition on the GBA. In the game at the fighter select screen, you see pretty much the exact same thing. Same costume and everything.

Plus, I think it also said that one of the guys created the 3D model of Sareena right at the end of the development of MKDA, which is why they added her to TE on the GBA.

I doubt she'd be in this game without at least changing her look a bit.

mmm... i've seen Sareena and heard of her, but as she isn't in the MK games i own, her story isn't known by me...

all that concept art stuff is really not a pointer u know, in MKDA there was a sketch of Dairou with the same look he has in MKD...
