Where can I find the best source for story?

I pre-ordered this game guide, but am looking for a novel, comic, etc. that people accept as the most true to the story. I have one by Jeff Rovin from the mid 90's, and was hoping to find something else floating around out there. Any recommendations is appreciated!
 
Since this game is a continuation of MK but also a reboot we'll have to wait till atleast the game is out maybe after they might make a novelization of it. But right now it doesn't make sense.
 
That's what I was afraid of. I found some comics on ebay, but it seems as if they're just collectibles more than any kind of substance. I really hope they get into this market, kind of like Star Wars did. I bet there is some money to be made if they can really get a solid story going. No better time than now.
 
If you are looking to read and not buy. Kamidugo(another MK site) has most of the comic books for you to read. ebay is the best place to find if you are looking to buy.
