Well, i have no idea if i have a PAL version or not. Im from Australia.

Ive had no problems wtih the Kintaro fatality and defeated him easy.

BUT.... I did all the smoke missions, and i got 50 000 EXP.. i when to him again and he says.. All quests complete you have unlocked Mortal Kombat 2...

but when i go to kontent there is NO MK2 thing there.

First of all it depends if your box cover or disc says PAL.
Second the Pal version of SM (MK 2) was cut as what EU players say.
The Suffering 2 Demo was deleted from the game as well.

only the PAL PS2 version is missing MKII..........it's on XBox. The reason it's missing from PS2 is because Sony Europe through a hissy fit about the no Smoke mis-coding in the "Arcade Perfect" MKII emulation..........the choices were to go back and re-code MKII to remove the glitch (of the start button bringing up game options, making it impossible to get Smoke by hitting down + start when Forden yells Toasty)....or to simply take it out. There wasn't time to re-code.......so they took MKII completely out of MKSM for the Sony versions.

should have bought an Xbox, Microsoft is alot less bitchy.

Ok...Brother/Sister, We have tons of complaints about the PAL format.
PAL Format (AUS, NZ and UK standard) doesnt get MK2 for some crappy reason. Instead we get 50K EXP.

Also can somebody tell me the difference between NTSC and PAL?

The difference between the NTSC and the PAL is
1)Pal has a higher resolution video than NTSC
2)The Pal version for SM on PS2 did not feature MK2 and The Suffering 2 Demo.
3)New Zealand is saaid to be having MK2. The game release is in December.*According to my pen pal*

I heard MKII was banned in some countries that use PAL. So the game can't be played. I dont know about x-box though.

i was kinda hoping it would be there too... Since I sold my copy a few years back with my megadrive... :?

i am from germany and i have the UK PAL version of MKSM for my XBOX and MKII is in it!!! 100%!!! the german version is cut. the videos are cut and MKII is out because they banned the original game when it came out so it would be illegal if it is on the german MKSM version. ok??? i don't know about the PS2 version BUT in the UK PAL XBOX version MKII is in!!! 100%

MKII on the PAL version for ps2 remains locked evean after completing the smoke missions. This is the story for many all over the world (exept for japan and USA). But like you AK47 so far very few complaints about x-box.

The only thing you can hope they do is release a second edition WITH it in... :?

But thats a slim chance.

1) is wrong, PAL and NTSC share the same TV standard "resolutions" Its the refresh rate that is different.

Pal has a lower refresh rate then the NTSC format.

PC monitors have adjustable refresh rates, and some TV/DVD players will adjust accordingly to accept Pal standard if they can be played on that player.

Edit: Also games can be Marked NTSC-UC for NTSC United States/Canada and NTSC-J for NTSC Japan. I'm sure they might mark them for other countries that use the NTSC standard but those are the two I'm aware of.

then your bro is an idiot.......as Midway Arcade Treasures II has the exact same MKII emulation on it, aswell as MKIII and many other games.......all for less than half the price of MKSM........
