This. I haven't changed faction since the game's released. Chose Brotherhood of Shadows and been that ever since.

My main three characters I play are Tanya (Kobu Jutsu), Takeda (Shirai Ryu) and Triborg (Smoke).
I also use Kitana (Assassin), Kenshi (Balanced) and Mileena (Piercing) as secondary choices.
And once in a while I like to use Reptile (Nimble), Ermac (Master of Souls) and Cassie (Brawler).
Very rarely I play as D'Vorah (Swarm Queen) as well, but I am just not a fan of her lack of special moves.

After playing most of the roster I decided these 3 are my favorites. They fit me the best.
 
I wish i could master Goro as well. He is so cool, but i think he's so hard to use. I've seen some players kicking asses with him (especially Kuatan Warrior)

After the OTG nerf Kuatan Warrior isn't that great anymore. Dragon fangs has the best mix ups and best armor. Tigrar Fury has good zoning and very deceiving plus frames. Goro is a solid underestimated character. He is just a bit slow and very easy to combo on due to his size. He also does exceedingly well after he knocks you down.
