Voice Actors

BANALITY
Yeah, all that's taken care of in MK9 now.

But let's face it. Voice acting is really important to help the player suspend his disbelief. Good voice acting makes the drama and the action so much more convincing.

So, even though they've already done all the voice acting, who would you have rather done the voice acting?

Scorpion: Ed Boon. Who I think was the original voice. Correct me if I'm wrong. But he sort of had a nice rasp and viciousness to Scorpion's "Get over here".

Sub Zero: I'm not really sure

Raiden: Man, it'd been so cool if they could have gotten Christopher Lambert to do it.

Jax: The guy who plays as Jax in the Rebirth video would be pretty slick.

ect. ect.

Who would you have wanted to see voice act the characters in the game?

I think this would be a cool thread. I would agree that the original voice actor for Shao Kahn was amazing. I really wish he could come back.

This thread is also kinda tough cause we can't really go by just looks alone. Sound is a bit tougher to match up with the characters I think.

Jason Statham would probably make a good voice for Kano.

If we're going by past works of the actors then let me just say that under no circumstances should Arnold Schwarzenegger voice Sub-Zero. Mr. Freeze was absolutely horrible.

Justin Bieber as Sheeva!!!

I'd like to hear Liam Neeson as Raiden, and Ralph Fiennes as Shang Tsung.

Almost all of the voice acting is pure shit in MK9. Liu Kang is Asian but sounds Native American. Sub-Zero and Scorpion are Asian and sound American. Cyrax sounds too human. Mileena giggles her ass off and it's annoying. She also talks really clearly which doesn't make sense, have you seen her mouth?

Well yeah. I know I'm going to have to look over that shit once the game comes out. We all will. Thing is, I was thinking that now that WB has NRS, they may be able to afford hiring better actors or maybe even a better voice acting director.

Hmm, personally I have no problem with the voice overs at all thus far. They sound great on my side.

For Liu Kang they found someone that sounded sort of like Robin Shou but not too much in order to bring a familiar yet different sound to what is usually used in the games.

For Shao Kahn they went with a a more deep but dawning voice to bring alittle more darkness to the role.

I get the feeling they wanted a different sound so they went back to the drawing board.

Actually Morgan Freeman would be pretty interesting for Noob. They'd have to give it a few effects though to make it sound supernatural.

I want Steve Ritchie back as the voice of Shao Khan. Whoever is voicing him in MK9 doesn't sound nearly as cool.
