This is awesome. And I don't think Boon and company care one way or the other. I mean, the game comes out in just over 3 weeks anyway and you know the first day it's out someone is going to mine it and release all the secret content....so what's the difference if it happens now or 3 weeks from now? The true secrets are going to be in the DLC.
I, for one, totally love what they did with Kintaro (except maybe the earring, but what are ya gonna do?). If they didn't jazz him up a little bit, he'd look too much like Goro. I remember when MKII first came out, someone told me that the new boss had 6 arms (this was on the first coin-op revision, before they even added Shao Khan and Kintaro was the boss of the game). I always hoped they would make a 6 arm character, but I loved Kintaro anyway. I don't care what anybody says, Kintaro is the most powerful Shokan they have ever created and he's the coolest. Okay, I feel really dumb for typing that and trying to argue my love for Kintaro.
I'm in the what the heck were they thinking with Smoke's hair camp. When I first saw him, my initial thought was, "why did they make Frost all gray?" LOL! I have faith they'll make him cool in the actual game, and if they don't, I'm positivie his alternate costume will have a hood or some other kind of hair arrangement. I mean, they've always played with Sub-Zero's look, from unmasking him and giving him that stupid scar to his weirdo Shredder mask in Deception, and who could forget the disaster of his bald head and ponytail in Deadly Alliance....but he's always had an alternate costume that I liked, so I'm sure Smoke will as well.
All in all, I think everything looks awesome, and I think the timing to unveil the full roster of characters is perfect. It's close enough to the game's release to not get stale before the game comes out, and far enough away to build even more excitement. The team can talk about secrets as much as they want, but surely they know with the Internet and guides, nobody discovers anything by accident anymore.
