Tourney mode?

Can anyone tell me what exactly this mode is? If u type 6 times "MK" in the versus screen, a tourney mode appears, but i didn´t noticed any difference?

From what ive heard the first hit in a match does not get a bar (meter) bonus. Other then that i have no clue

Also, is there a way to turn of cosmetic damage on characters? I hate how Kabal's mask always gets broken, it doesn't look right with his mask off.

Not that I know of. Try to get hit less I guess

Tournament mode also disables foreground objects.
