...but i gotta get this off me chest.

MORTAL KOMBAT: DECEPTION IS GLICHY AS FUCK,RUSHED, AND HAS RUINED THE KRYPT IDEA.
Now hear me out before you hellfire flame me.

Glichy:
How many times have i been in a wicked battle pulling off many combos in a row and seen shit like "3 hit combo: 3% Damage". Now there is no why that that could happen. I dont think there is one movie in the game that dosnt do atleast 2%. All im saying is that if ive seen this multiple times some of you must have seen it. But i degress, this is a monor bug.
Konquest mode had many points where two people would be about to fight...the FMV would end and they would both shoot into a default stance. This is a really minor thing but makes it look horrible. If your releasing a mojor game like an MK title watch the damn FMVs and make them flawless!

Rushed:
Is it really so much to ask to have some decent endings? i mean i just beat the game with Hotaro (the samurai looking dude) and after i kicked the Dragon Kings ass it gives me an FMV of Hotaro presenting Sub Zero to Onaga. No didnt i just JUST kick his ass? Why not have just had me fight Sub Zero for an end boss? Again a minor thing but come on it only makes sence... Oh yea and is anyone else satisfied with 2 pictures and some reading. Atleast we get read to this time...
So i do a pit fatility...and a guy falls off a clif and lands on a spike...the spike goes through her gut and wiggles around a bit as he squirms. His robe is STILL hanging to his feet not to the ground, apparently outworld has some lame ass gravity or something. If other games have free floating clothes that look real and can accially blow in the wind Why dose MK still has set bit mapped clothes that look like shit?

THE KRYPT:
Back in MK:DA i loved the kript! Id go there and prey the nexy Koffin i opened gave me a good bounty! But now all the charactors (almost all) are given to you in KONQUEST and the only map ive so far unlocked (the living forest) sucks major ass. So now i cruse around the kript getting picture after picture of the DEV team and saving all my onyx koins for noob.

Dont get me wrong, i love the game. Its not the "best" fighter out there but is damn fun. I just hope in the next game they fix some of the little shit that could make this a fucking epic masterpiece. I want good endings that accially forward the storyline, endings that dont contradict each other, and a POLISHED game.
Thats just my oppion game and i already plan on getting hell for this so...
FLAME ON,
Zombie!

Since I'm sure you're well-prepared....

You are a fucking moron! Any post of your's I ahve ever read has been nothing but bitching about the absolute dumbest shit that nobody cares about. This is a great game..the graphics, gameplay and replay ability are outstanding. Every game has shortcomings and No game has every pleased everyone. It sounds like you haven't even gotten halfway through Konquest yet! Spend more time on the game and less time whining. Also, maybe more of your ideas would get a little more respect if you learned how to spell???

I'm not that big on flaming people directly i usually just say my 2 cents and leave it at that without the jamboree of name calling and so-forth, no matter how much i disagree. So, im not going to fly off the handle, as some after me may do, or as you may expect, but i do have something to say...

That's merely a device to give you a feeling of accomplishment, and to maintain the general idea of the story trying to be depicted by this particular installment. The Dragon King is the main antagonist of the core story, and thusly the main antagonist in your fight for the championship. It's not practical for the developers to create a different pattern of fighting for each and every character you chose. I understand completely the desire to have such a structure, and sometimes even wish for it myself, it's just not really that practical is all.

Thanks to Bean for being civil, and i totially agree, but i still think at this point in gaming it is easilly do-able to have each charactor have his own path.

And thanks to SoundWave for making THIS so easy...
It sounds like you haven't even gotten halfway through Konquest yet!
...and sounds like you forgot i mentioned playing as Hotaru, a charactor only unlockable after you beat Konquest. :)

Posts like ZOMBIE'S make people like me remember of Deadly Alliance and being scared of even thinking that the game will be as bad as DA and spending a whole day of work on it...

Hopefully the online part repays everything,.

Guess I must have misunderstood since you spelled his name (and just about every other word)wrong in you post....

Well, yeah, ofcourse it's "do-able" i just simply meant that it's not practical in the eyes of the developer to program more than 24 different fight paths. I know that if i were a programmer i wouldn't want to do it either, especially since the current method of one solid pathway for each and all fighters seems to be working and acceptable for most people. (most being the key word)

Starting from the top of your post, ZOMBIE.

The instances where combos do very low damage usually happens after you pop them up and miss the first few hits of the combo, or they fall to the ground early in the combo. The game registers the fact that you are still doing the combo, so your subsequent hits do less and less damage to prevent you from linking together a 100% combo. It's a balancing technique.

Okay, second paragraph...the only FMV sequence you see is the opening scene in which Shujinko tells of how the Dragon King came to be. The other parts are cut aways from game play before you do battle. Obviously, the first part of battle in Mortal Kombat is taking your stance, so it's just logical for the characters to get in a fight pose. The other FMVs are in the krypt that you unlock, and they for the most part, are flawless. I haven't seen anything that doesn't mesh well, but I'm not looking that hard for the flaws in the game.

Like MrBean said, the endings are for practical purposes. If you read Hotaru's bio first, he is a bad guy in this game; of course his ending is going to reflect that. All of the other MKs shared this shortcoming as well. In the first MK, Rayden destroys the world by bringing the other Gods into the tournament. Later installments reveal that the Gods protect humanity.

The clothing is a minor thing that I can look past. Would it look better if they weighted it properly so that it would be affected by gravity? Very much so. It's a small flaw in a very big game.

I like the fact you have to unlock items in the Krypt this time around instead of just purchasing them. Makes it more challenging. I just wish we (the MK community) hadn't found them all so damn fast. This however is a matter of opinion, so it's left up to the individual on how they feel about it.

Overall, the few flaws in this game should be easy to overlook; unless you are setting out to purposely trash it.

Thats my 2¢. Take it with a grain of salt since it's mostly opinion and everyone is entitled to them :)

I was going to make a good, long post about this but KillKano did quite a good job.

Like he said about the 2-3% combo damage. It is NOT a bug. If you notice, when you link moves together and perform longer chains, every single move registers for less damage. It's a balancing technique so you can't link together a massive amount of pop-up/juggling attacks and get 100% in one combo.

As for the game being rushed. No sir. MK:DA was a rushed product. MK:D is not. The entire game engine was finished in MK:DA. All they did was polish it up and change some minor things. What they spent most of their time doing in this game was adding content, the large konquest mode, extra features, online capabilities, character adjustments/additions, and 2 fatalities, stage fatalities, and a hara-kiri. The game wasn't rushed. As for endings ... it's how the MK endings are. Get used to it. Yeah ... we would all love to see some movie endings for every character but that requires a great deal of time to do. I thought the endings were fine. MK probabaly has the best overall story and best endings in any fighting game out there. Don't complain.

Have you guys forgotten the ending of MK3 (or was it 4....i think it may have been 4) that had full 3d animation?

this thread tastes like chicken...

I say... MK4 = possibly the least popular, full scale game they ever made in the series

IMO MK: Deception blows MK:DA out of the water. This game has that MK feel, something MK:DA just didn't have.

As far as the endings, yes the animated endings of MK4 & Gold were a nice touch. But the endings don't make or brake a fighting game. It's all about the gameplay and Deception has it in spades.

My 2 cents.

Another thing that really urks me is...

So i just beat the game with Darrious...he takes over power of his realm yadda yadda yadda...but will THAT be what really happened in the next MK? Who knows...for all we knew Scorpion was dead in the last MK!

You know, is all you care about is the damn endings? I don't give a shit about the story, as long as it feels like I'm playing MK, and I get to do some fatalities, I'm happy. If you're playing the game for the storyline, you're in the wrong arena, my friend. I play because I like head to head fighting, and I like the finishing moves. The endings could say "Welcome to Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" for all I care. I'm still going to love the feel of playing this game, especially online.

Every single MK had false endings for characters, or endings that just eluded to what happened and didn't cover the whole story. How else do you explain the fact that every character has an ending in MKs 1-3, even though we know for a fact that Liu Kang was the Supreme Mortal Kombat Champion and won each of these tournaments?

You just have to wait for the next game to come along and clear up who wins, loses, dies, etc.

Well put! The endings are per character... basically telling what would happen if they won. They are just there to give you something more than just credits... The endings themselves serve no purpose, only to entertain you for your valient effort in beating the boss. If they were more movie like they would have less content somewhere else in the game.

As for MKD altogether, it was not rushed like MKDA was... They had plenty of time to make this one near perfect... as for combos that do less... i'm glad they do, i mean you would not want someone doing a 90% combo on you every match now would you? The juggling combos are there to take off less so if you happen to find one you can do it for awhile... until you misque, or happen to get a breaker.

In my opinion this is by far the best fighting game to date.

I actully aggree with you. I hate the krypt now. First off:

1.) No where near as many as in MKDA.
2.) 90% of the stuff sucks in it
3.) Giving us stuff from MKDA and all the older games in it.

Now, theres Fighting

I've done combos in training where I get 4 hit 0% . WTF's up with that?

Baraka:

1.) Made him too powerful.
2.) He occupys like 90% of the loading screens.
3.) I now hate Baraka.

The endings themselves serve no purpose, only to entertain you for your valient effort in beating the boss. If they were more movie like they would have less content somewhere else in the game.

Some endings DO hint at things that im sure we will be seeing in the next game... Ermaks for example. Maybe its just a personal thing, but i think they should make the endings sync up and make sence..
