Sony & the PSN Debacle

I didn't think this topic was going to last when I created it. Some good responses so far.

I can see the consensus here is that we're pissed at Sony moreso than the hackers who brought down PSN. I think I can understand that. Sony's security was crappy and frankly the PSN is laughable in comparison to the integrity of XBL. However, many people have pointed out that the PSN is FREE, and that is a major issue in this case. A restitution or customer appreciation isn't necessary in Sony's eyes because we're not paying for the service. I get that argument too, it's valid and you all have a point.

But what about PS+ subscribers?

If anything, I think they deserve a free month, or free time equal to however long PSN is going to be down. I'm not a PS+ subscriber, never will be, so I don't really care and it doesn't matter to me. But JohnnyCageWins is a prime example of someone who should get a little bit of restitution form Sony.

As far as I'm concerned, I appreciate the fact that Sony has voluntarily disabled PSN so they can find the root of their security issues and make it stronger, more secure. If it's going to be down for a while then that is something we have to live with. Like I said originally, I'm bummed that I can't play online with my friends but otherwise I have no real care for taking MK online other than getting the new DLC when it is available. If it's still down by that point (I'm guessing maybe a month or so from now) that'll be a huge bummer.

Thanks for keeping it interesting.
