maybe its just me but i got online today to test out my cyber sub zero and the lag was a bit jarring for me.

it completly skipped the char intros, there is a weird pause between the read....fight at the beginning as well. couldnt do anything out of the gate because i couldnt find the timing. i even had slowdowns midfight. im wireless but the internet is a decent 10mb charter. doesnt seem like i should be having these issues. but since i am, any tips to work around it?

All i do is just try to play and wait till it either stops lagging or lags me out. Honestly i think theres something wrong with the server, maybe it will be fixed in the near future, i honestly don't know....

You're going to deal with lag frequently so it's best to get acquainted with it fast :)

First of all, since blocking is pretty much pointless and makes the match even longer, start out rushing down on the opponent every chance you can and do whatever heavy attack your character has that can stun the other person, then follow up with a throw/uppercut/simple combo. Don't do anything to neutralize the battlefield, like sweep kicks or jumping when the other guy does.

i think ill stow that advice in between sarcasm and bad

edit: overall im having fun. some things if ind myself having trouble with is kabal players alternating ground saw and eye beam, youd think as cyber sub i could iceball and combo out, but i always get hit before it goes off.

cyrax players that spam nets is a problem for me, i can block there combo adn immediatly press a attack button and they can still get in a trap before my fastest melee move lands.

other then that its just lose and learn. overall been fun, i should probably memorize fatalities so i acn actually do them when i win >.>

aether99 on psn if anyone wants to beat me to a pulp lol. not tonight though, need sleep before work

Don't expect to get too technical with lag, dude :P

But yes, every character has their cheap little quirks, you'll learn with time how to break them of it though.

It's pretty hard, and when you are caught in the corner, you can just say goodbye, even wake up attacks tend to fail, so, basically, it's a rushdown match all the time, who hits first and keeping better until the end, with less mistakes, usually wins in the end.

In the normal game, lag free, after defending some combos, it's your turn to attack, but, online, depending of lag level, it's impossible to counter-attack so imediatelly after defending some combos, and, depending of the character your oponent is using, he will keep the pressure anyway. It's almost as playing a game with only 75% of his real speed, very frustrating.

I make sure my consoles are hooked up to ethernet cords. I also make sure they have their ports forwarded in my router console. And I the console I'm playing on in the DMZ of my router to help fix connection issues.

I have smooth matches ~80% of the time.

Bad things:
Wireless connections
not forwarding your ports
downloading stuff on the internet/watchin movies off netflix...

no clue what forwarding a port means and sadly i cannot get a ethernet cable to where i am. but ty all for the hep.

If it's lagging badly, I'll watch in KotH and play a match, but leave after spectating a few more. I honestly can't figure out how people play through the lag, not to mention pull off combos and well timed moves, it baffles me to the point of insanity.

If it's a 1v1 match, I only play 3 games max... So I just suffer through unless it's unbearable.

Yeah I get smooth matches about 90% of the time too. No wireless connection + no other activity on your connection = good matches.
