Secrets we haven't found yet.

I don't know if there's a post about this but I found something that makes me think there is more secrets in the game that we did not find yet.

So I was reading the player's guide while taking a dump, ( I know I'm not the only one who does this lol) and I stumbled on the kombat codes page. There is 8 Random Phrases that pop up when you enter certain codes before a vs match :


1. "Don't defend in a temple corrupted with shadow..." ---- Noob secret fight in the temple

2. "The krypt walls hold secrets..." ---- 5k free coins in the krypt

3. "What lurks at the bottom of the pit?" ---- Reptile secret fight

4. "?SUNOB YTSAOT" ---- Now this is probably in reference to the dude that pops in the corner of the screen like old mks(forgot his name) . Any old school mk fan will tell you that this guy is there for a reason. I'm sure there is something we need to do in a certain stage when this guy pops. (In MK2 you had to press down+start in the portal stage to fight smoke)

5. "Who hides in the forest?" ---- Smoke secret fight

6. "Motaro Transformation?" ---- Well this has something to do with Motaro but i have no clue what it means.

7. "She waits for you at the top of the tower..." ---- Jade secret fight

8. "Thanks for karing!" ---- No clue either



So there you have it. We know that 5 out of 8 are associated with secrets that we discovered...so what about the other 3?

Maybe they don't mean anything but I doubt it.
 
I heard along the grape vine that pressing D+Select when Dan Forden pops up gives you a full special bar. Haven't pulled it of personally, but an interesting rumor nonetheless.
 
Maybe there is a way to transform into Motaro with Shang Tsung if you do something special? your guess is as good as mine lol
 
I've seen these questions pop up several times, so here are the answers:

Toasty Bonus gives you a full super meter but I cannot remember how it is activated. It might be the Xray buttons.

The Motaro transformation is a joke in reference to MK2 which is Kano transformation? Which didn't exist.

The Kare campaign was Gamestop's pre-order campaign.
 
What if you have to push a certain button combination in Story Mode when

I bet that whatever Motaro Transformation is, it has to do with Shang Tsung. He is the only one who shapeshifts, right?

where is the source for the toasty bonus? i've heard it a few times, never seen it in action
 
this is totally a guess, but i think the thanks for karing might have something to do with cyrax in the desert. I means u might pull him out of the sand therefore "karing" then get to fight the classic cyrax.

Another theory is that is has something to do with the credits, i watched them all *yawn* and nothing happened afterwards.

There are only 4 secret fights trophies so there are just 4 secret fights, so there is no secret cyrax fight.
 
there's def nothing with cyrax in the desert. in the desert file, he's listed as npc_ds_halfcyrax. it's not a full character. i would like to see him tho, i havent even seen him in the desert

hes allll the way on the left handside flailing his arms.
 
It makes more sense for it to be Mileena because the top of the arcade tower is Kahn...not Shang.

Karing is probably friendships or just doing something at the kredits.

How do you perform Shang's old fatality? It's 30 seconds of LP so hm

EDIT: Tried 1...no good. And 2...no good.

Just because their are a certain amount of trophies or achievements for secrets doesn't mean theirs only 4 or whatever. Not everything in games is now run by those, and it looks like the easy/normal secrets give you points. We have the hacked ini file telling us theirs 10 secrets in the krypt. Then some secrets here that no-one has officially discovered.
