Scorpion's Toasty fatality

wow! the cache thing works! so for xbox users, just go to your Hard drive options and clear your cache, it takes just a second literally and test it.

I unplugged the internet cable btw, cause I figured it could just ask for the same update again at game boot... anyway, as soons as I popped the game in it asked for an update (not console-dashboard, but in-game). So I've been playing it with the update applied ever since, couldn't perform Toasty no matter what, now I clear the cache and yeah it works perfectly.

Just going D,U,U + Y , with block on until Y should work fine, it's definitely not how you do it, it's just that "bug" thing going on regarding updates.

I still can't figure out what's wrong, but sure something went not quite accordingly to plan... since you can only perform toasty using scorpion's alternative, it seems to be a bug in the code.... my guess is you can only perform Toasty with scorpions KLASSIC, but the code is messed up, therefore they fixed it right away (the update was on before the street date, so people with pre-orders would get what they paid for).
 
this is very interesting - I wondered about this. Can anyone confirm how to clear the data from the PS3? I'll give it a go. And then, if you update it after you've unlocked it, does it go away?

Apparently not, as people who did it before couldn't do it after the patch.

Well, you don't unlock it, because you don't have the pre-order code. That's the only way to UNLOCK it. You can do it, like you can do second fatalities without finding them in the krypt, but they aren't unlocked. The patch seems to keep you from performing it if you have not unlocked it via a pre-order code.
 
To clear the cache on ps3 delete the games file in the game data utility folder should be the first folder under games

Im gonna install the patch later to check if it still works and ill tell you guys, i hope it blocks it because if you think it must be a bug, why you can only do it with his alternate, it makes no sense. If they block it with the patch good, because that means there will be another way to perform it later with all costumes, without the preorder needing.
 
I could not get this to work after patching it the other day. Just cleared the cache on my 360 and its working fine now. Just declined the update when it asked.

Nope. That just means that it wasn't intended to work for people without unlocking the classic outfit first and they disabled it for good. Sooo... no classic fatalities without preorder, sorry.

PS: My bad. You're talking about an unofficial way, aren't you?

For some reason Toasty doesnt work for me. I've added the code, but it doesn't work.. I have Scorpions costume.

Down up Down Triangle right?
 
I updated the game to v1.01 and Toasty doesnt work anymore :P though it still appears in my move list.
 
OK...here is the definitive answer for ALL of you PS3 owners out there who, like me were frustrated cuz you cannot get the damned "TOASTY" fatality to work. I registered for this forum JUST to share with everyone...so feel free to spread this ALL over the internet, I am willing to back up my claims w/ screenshots...maybe vids if I can figure out how to get them on YouTube.
Anyway....I preordered my MK game w/ Gamestop and got the "code" for Scorpions classic skin and fatality. I DID update to ver. 1.01 right after I put the game in...so THAT rumor is total BULLS^&T, that you cannot do it IF you update.
BE AWARE....this is only for people that preordered!!!!! I cannot say if it will work if you DID NOT.
The fatality button presses for PS3 ARE as follows HOLD BLOCK (R2), down, up, up RELEASE BLOCK, Triangle. Go to www.gamestop.com/code for verification.
The PROPER distance is "jump" meaning stand as close to your foe as possible, then do 1 jump away from him/her.....but NOT on the other side of opponent, on the same side.
I have done the fatality many ways just to test and make SURE it works...........
1. in the fatality "training" arena w/ the classic costume on
2. in a fight w/ the classic costume on
3. in the fatality training area w/ THE DEFAULT costume on and it worked too.
Don't be fooled, you can do ANY fatality you want in the training area....not just the one that they have there onscreen.....just do your other button presses and they will work!
Oh and before I forget, people are saying that since Scorpion has 4 slots in his "move list" for finishing moves...that there is a babality, friendship or some BS....nope.

OH yeah and one more thing....to ANYONE who has the Prima Official Game Guide for MK...in the "Fatality Reference Cards" in the front....they have Scorpion's and Sektor's fatalities SWITCHED AROUND. Just a warning!
