Ps3 Voice Chat - i can not hear anything over game sounds?

Hi there....

Dose anyone have any tips on how to get decent voice chat working on the Ps3. I play a bit wit some friends and we like to talk nonsense while in a KoTH. The problem is that we can not really do this as we can not hear each other.

i have tried setting all the game sounds really low and turning up they TV but this doesn't seam to affect voice chat, we just can not hear over game sounds...

Any ideas?
 
Turtle Beach "Ear Force" PX21.. USB jack for mic and it splices into the audio feed for audio....
 
I wish online would show when A player has a mic or let you hear them if you aren't wearing your mic. :\
