PS3 or XBOX360 - Why chose one over the other?

i feel the same way. im only 18 but ive had pretty much everything that has come out while ive been alive. snes,n64, ps1, ps2, xbox. gamecube (loved it but it broke on me), wii, xbox 360, ps3. plus i went to an arcade as a kid a lot and still go every once in a while(sweet place called NickelKade). ive liked everything ive had and they've all had their ups and downs.
were all here for the same reason. we love videos games and we love MK

I've noticed the exact opposite. The E3 and GDC demos were done with the 360 version.

I have both consoles. I'm getting the 360 version because...

1. I love Achievements.
2. I love Xbox Live. (Yes it costs 14 cents a day. But it's worth it.)
3. The friends I want to play against are also getting it on Xbox.
4. I don't like Kratos being in the game.

I prefer the 360 over the PS3... BUT I fully acknowledge that I've had to replace it twice in the past 6 years. One time MS paid for. One time they didn't.
 
Both the PS3 and 360 have there good and bad points.

I will have the 360 version in the arcade cabinet for online play and I will play the PS3 version for single player.
 
For me, i grew up with PS 1 and 2, and then gave Microsoft a go with Xbox, and I must say though xbox came after Playstation (in general, as PS was released in 95) I been an Xbox head since. In terms of 360 vs ps3, im stickin with my xbox cause though you gotta pay online, you reap so much from it, not to mention the xbox rewards program (Sony got one of those?) The Kinect, as opposed to the Move (which should move RIGHT out the way) and PS3's were exploding at release and too bulky, so yeah those are my reasons...

okay here it goes, I say get an xbox;
-the xbox has a better and bigger online community and better servers(most of the time)
-the new 360 controller has a great D-pad
-Avatars
-more pleople play online so there will be great amounts of people your playing level
-n9195v plays xbox
-Xbox Live Arcade and the 360 in general has more games, more options

in all truth I'd say see what console most of your friends play on a get that one. Just make sure they're Mortal Kombat fans ;) peace
 
I got PS3 I just think its more for hardcore gamers look at the first party games we got I mean u dont see lil kiddie games like sesame street and things like back yard sports come out for it.The online is free,u can browse the net,download bootleg movies,play blurays and 3D blurays,u can hook up a printer to it,it only does everything!!!
 
you should get a PS3 not because the xbox is bad is a good console but here it is the main reasons you should get a ps3

-Free Online
-More Exclusives This Year (EX:Infamous 2,Resistance 3,Uncharted 3 ,Socom 4)
-No Region Lock (in case you buy another region game)
-Blu-Ray
-No Children
-No Achivement Whor##
-Less Hackers
-Less Chance of the console break
-No Corrupt Admins like The Pro (he bans you for no reason he banned my friend just because he asked him to play cod so my friend switched to ps3)
-More Hard Disk Memory
-Less Idiots
-Less Campers
-Less Noobtubers
-3D
-Internet Browser
-PSN Exclusive Titles (EX:Pixel Junk Shotter ,Dead Nation,)
-No Annoying Coller Sound

and much more , i had a 360 but after 4 months it got RROD
 
I'm thinking about saying **** it, and selling my 360 to buy a PS3, but I really don't want to start over on my games when I do.
Is there anyway to transfer Just Cause 2 save game (its a multi console game) to the PS3, by way of usb or anything like that?

You can't transfer data from a 360 console to a PS3. Nothing from the 360 (Even data) would be compatible for the PS3, unless you hacked your console.

I have always found the "console wars" amusing. Its on preferences more than anything

I have always felt it depends on what you want and what you like. I find fighting games on the ps3 MUCH easier. However, I feel that the xbox's triggers are perfect for shooting and racing games. Which would explain why they seem to get more exclusive first person shooter games.

I own both systems. I got my Xbox 360 in 2007 and the ps3 slim in 2010 so I cannot give an accurate comparison by that.
Reason being is that my xbox is the older style bulky white box, and I am hoping the newer slim black box design would improve in the areas the older version was slacking. Granted I plan to upgrade to the newer version then I can give an accurate comparison

rofl at the no children ^^ there are more children on ps3 its just that like 90% of ps3 users don't have a mic ^^
 
as for fighting games i own both ps3 and 360 and it varies from game to game. i mean i couldnt imagine playing mvc3 or sf on ps3's d-pad it's just much easier to pull off half circle motions and quarter circles on the xbox's dpad in my opinion.

and xbox there are more ppl online who have headsets seeing as it's sold in a few bundles unlike the ps3 so u have more chattier ppl in xbox live.

and its easier to play games with friends on xbox live.

so if u have friends get xbox if not get ps3 ^^

I own both consoles, but prefer my 360 because of Xbox Live. Mainly because Xbox Live makes it so much easier to communicate and play games with my friends. The party system with cross game voice chat and all that shit. Plus the majority of my friends are on Xbox anyway. PSN is all over the place with some games having better features than others... It just feels incomplete and a different experience depending on what game you're playing.

I'd personally buy whatever console your friends play on most. If that isn't an issue I would go 360 in a heartbeat for Live if that is what is important to you? Or maybe you liek the exclusives on Playstation more? Shrug. Do whatever you want!
 
Honestly, the only real reason is that I don't have to pay for the internet on PSN. I don't really prefer one or the other, though, even though I only have a PS3.
 
Anything the xbox360 can do, the ps3 can do better.
Party system, voice chat, online play, exclusives, Avatars, etc.
You know how you just look at the little dude on 360?
I can make mine walk around in a MMO.
Oh and it's free.
And they last longer.
Anddd the online play is EXACTLY THE SAME.
Support for the system and the games is awesome.
Exclusives are better.
Need I go on?
 
I still cant believe you have to pay to play online with xbox.

Id haveto say that PS3 is my personal choice. (Although if wii had the right controlling system and access to games...)

I cant base my opinion on operation and processing speeds, or any other technical stuff, i can only base it on funtionality. I just find it better to use personally. Both control wise and display wise

Xbox 360 may get some great "exclusive" content, but in all seriousness, any worthwhile will eventually be released on both systems (GTA for example)

Im not too up to date with what is coming out in regards to "exclusives" for either system, so maybe browse through any online lists to see what your preferences are. No matter what happens Youll always find a favourite of yours will be released exclusively on the system you dont have. Typical.

Find out what your friends have so you can make a choice knowing that youll be ableto play online with them.

Both systems have been around a few years now, any word on next gen consoles?

You should ask that question in about 4 years from now as the 360 is already confirmed to continue through 2015. Dont know about the PS3 though.
 
Both Have good and bad areas. Myself though I grew up on the Playstation and Ive just always perferred the games that come out on the playstation over 360 even though now days everything is pretty much muilti platform which is fine (makes it fair for everyone) Plus I like the controller better even for FPS which I hardly play I perfer the PS controller over the 360. I have both systems but he 360 is collecting dust. Its really a matter of your taste I think.

I like PS3 layout better it feels more organized to me and easily to use. I have also had less problems. Only thing I dont really like is the internet quality is kinda poor. Then again on 360 you are paying for it so its only to be expected. So I dont hate 360 I just like their exclusive games and system general. So again it comes down to personal preference. I never understood the console wars I mean practically everything is on each system.

Both companies are BUSINESSES they are out to make money thats what they have to do. I just think Microsoft is the worse of the two.

Also if your someone whos into the console wars then I wouldnt be braiging because its tied right now. PS2 long surpassed the xbox and this gen I do feel 360 has had the advantage with the PS3 slowly catching up. So really its 1:1 lol
 
ohhh snap here come the fanboys!

anyways i choose Xbox, solely because XBL is FAR better than PSN, i had both consoles but i sold my ps3 to my dad, i barely played it anyways
 
I have an XBOX360. If I also had a PS3, I'd choose that version. I'm a fan of the God of War series and don't mind Kratos' inclusion. To make an accurate assessment, we'll have to wait and see if there are any more differences between each version.

As of now, the PS3 version is superior content-wise. XBL does have superior online service but PS3 is free so it depends on where your priorities lay. I'm perfectly content with the 360 copy I'll be purchasing. :D
