Maybe their new ad campaign is going to be a throwback to those old MK1 ads with kids in the street yelling "Mortal Kombat!".

That is exactly what I thought when I saw that picture. It looks like a guy standing in front of a green screen actually, they just put the city backdrop on the green screen.

His stance reminded me of the kid in the MK1 commercial for "Mortal Monday" and also of Shao Kahn in the MKII commercial.

10/09/06 appears to be their new "Mortal Monday" since they are putting a close on the series as we know it. Until they change course and bring the characters we know back for the next gen consoles. :-D
