Need some help!

Hey guys, I'm new here :)

Anyway, I'm from Australia and I've never really been a big MK fan, but was kind of disappointed that MK9 wasn't released here.

My Dad is in America at the moment and I'm wondering if, this far down the track, it is worth me telling him to bring it back for me? Do any Aussies play online or is it basically dead here?

Thanks.

Aus player here, haven't played much MK online at all. Just started recently over the past week, there are mk players in aus but not a whole lot, best you find them online and add them and play them through friend list. You might need to ask others though for a more accurate number on Aussies online.

Definitely worth it for the offline play alone though. Its a great game to verse your mates in as well. All of my mates love it, not one that doesn't like it.

Yeah I'll introduce it to the boys as well, but obviously I can't be doing that all the time. Oh yeah by the way, I play on Ps3, and if I get a copy from America how do I tell if that's region locked or not?

PS3 games are not region locked. You MAY be restricted to playing players who only have the US copy.

I haven't played MK9's Online is quite a while. I'm pretty rusty at the game now. Definitely fun to play the game with your mates.

I didn't say that at all.

PS3 games can be played by any console in any region. Online however, you might only be able to play against Australians with your version of the game.

I personally have the US copy, and I would assume it is the more predominate copy here in Australia.

Yeah sorry, should have rephrased that haha.
Even though you don't play online anymore, when you did was it working alright, and was there any Aussies online?
Not too sure about getting this now, but I haven't got long to decide..

The last time I went online was a while back in July probably. I regularly see around 14 or more on good nights, and 7-ish on the poorer nights.

If online play is what you are predominantly looking for, it may not be the best buy. But if you are also looking forward to to offline play and are a fan of fighting games in general, this game is a must have. Also it is one of the only few fighting games that has a good and deep story.

Yeah the game seems good enough offline, the online would just be a bonus to be honest, since it's banned here. Thanks for your help guys :)
