Need a little help

Hey :D
Right well I've been playing Mk for a while now, and have pretty much now tryed every character. I've gone through all of them, and there isn't a single one character I can stick with and learn.
For example, Ill play Nightwolf for a few games and then suddenly want to play someone else, and make up and excuse for myself, such as ''I can't play him very well'' or ''I think I can do better with this character''.
This is really starting to hamper me, as people I could beat a while ago I am now losing to because I can't stick to any one character. I always want to change. A friend recommended me Shang Tsung, but I tried him out, managed to get a decent 31% B and B combo down and learned him well, but I got trashed online and was annihilated even in Normal Ladder mode.

Can anyone recommend me something that could help? Is there anything I can do to actually commit to a character? I just seem to change my opinion of a character really easily :/
 
Well, i mained mileena, yet i also enjoy playing with other fighters too! Maby thats how you are too?
Fight against a friend with a few fighters and who ever got you closer to winning (or got you to win) choose them for your main!!!
 
The person I nearly always win with is Kano .. But ... I just dont like playing him :/ Im not a fan of his character but I can only do decently with him
 
The shangtsung comment seems odd. You don't learn a bnb and magically become able to compete. You have to learn his punishers. His mixups (if any). Frame traps/resets (again if any). Safe strings/specials/normals and proper use of each including ex specials. Then you have to practice it all to the point that most of it is second nature.

Figure out what gameplaystyle u enjoy id say
 
Yeah :/ With the Shang Tsung, I didnt elaborate properly :P I played and learned him for about 2 weeks before I decided to play online. I only won 2 matches out of the 23 that I played XD Its hard for me to find a gamestyle. For example, I like Noob, but I cant play him for the life of me. When I go online I know all his combos, etc, but I just freeze and use random moves which end up failing >.< I dont know what it is >.<
 
You seem to like Nightwolf, I think you mentioned him in the other thread you started... maybe main him? Tsung is an expert level character imo

Or you can do what I'm trying to do; become good with 5 characters at once since playing only 1 gets boring. I focus on playing Kano as my main though since I do the best with him. You need 1 character your best at and have trained a bunch with for when things get serious business

When you play online do you find yourself getting nervous/anxious and then playing like a retard when you rock it offline? I have some friends that get that way in fighting games and I still get that way alot on StarCraft 2. If that's the case you just need to let go of the fear of losing, it's only a game :)
 
Also, how well do you do in the offline Ladder mode? I like to practice combos on expert cause being able to pull off combos in practice mode means nothing if you can't do them when your opponent is attacking you
 
Well, I have really good days, and really bad days. Never a mixture of the two. I practice my combos in practice, and yeah you are right, I get anxious when I enter an online game, makes me really nervous. The reason I don't really want to main Nightwolf is because I actually am not that good with him when it comes down to playing other players. I can play him vs the AI, but not others. I'm pretty much a noob :P I play on Normal ladder because any Higher and I know I will lose over and over again.

Ive dabbled in other characters and I really like them BUT I just never seem to do well at all. I really like Kabal and Stryker but :
- With kabal I try to use, for example, his Back 121 combo (or soemthing like that) and He only executes the first move from that combo, and then Im standing their like a complete melon >.<
- With Stryker I know hos moves, and I know his micups. However, it seems as though all of my moves are predicted. They are all usually blocked without much effort.

It just really annoys me because I want to be good with Kabal/Stryker/Mileena/Sindel/Noob but its soo damn hard when I just fail completely against basic Ai :P

You just need practice. If you like kabal then main him. Don't give up on a character because you suck with him, practice and get better, the more you play the better you wil get. Set the ai to medium or hard in training and you cant lose

If you get whooped online don't just drop the character, find out what he did to you and learn and what you could have done different

I love most of the characters I play. I like Shang Tsung, but the moment I hit a corner and they are there, It seems I cant get out. I think thats why I gave up on him :P
Ill probably end up playing a good few characters. but Ill try to main one first and then work on others when Im comfortable :3
