My theory for MK7...

I think that the most important place in MK7 is definitely going to be the netherrealm. I also think that the most important thing in MKD that helps predict that is Ashrah's sword. Now, I have a feeling that the next game will focus around many characters trying to get their hands on that powerful artifact. Think about it, Raiden is dark, and that would allow him to return to light, hed go on some crazy rampage killing all that is in his path to save earthrealm and his own soul...Scorpion could permantly be rid of the netherrealm, along with quan chi and shang tsung...and quite possibly the most important character that should take possession of Ashrah's sword is Noob. Think about it, lets say that Ashrah still ascended out of the netherrealm but didnt kill Noob completely (you know what Ed Boon always says about MK...) and he takes possession of the sword. He could become immensely powerful if he were able to clean his soul and become some super evil white Noob...He would be able to traverse the realms and do whatever he pleases...plus this leaves it open for all the people trying to protect Noob(smoke), get the sword for themselves(all of those in the netherrealm, the vampires, raiden), and for Ashrah to hunt Noob again, as well as a power struggle between the evil powers for control of the realms (Dark Raiden, Shao Kahn, Onaga, Quan Chi, Shinnok etc.)

I truly believe that the purpose of Ashrah wasnt herself, but th weapon she wielded.

Any thoughts, rebuttals?

i think you may be on to something with the sword and noob, however some of your explanations are a little far fetched (but who am i to say, boon does his own thing).

it'd be funny though, imagine as you say, noob turns white(opposite) so then he could actually go by the name Boon Tobias. its funny cuz i could actually see an mk character having that name, it sounds original yet real life, like johnny cage.

Since Raiden was killed by the amulet that means he is evil maybe that isnt the real raiden perhaps his evil clone is the one in Deception while the good one is in the Liandri tournament looking for new fighters. (He could've teleported into that realm when the dragon king exploded in the opening scene)

If shao Kahn had a stupid reason to live, iam sure this will be appropriate for raiden.

sounds boring to me. personally I'm interested in seeing GOOD mk characters like Stryker, Jax (not some gangstah fruit), rain, kintaro, sheeva, shao kahn, and hell even shinnok or other oldschool characters. I don't like these new posers such as Kobra, Ashrah, and Hotarui (I dont even care how to spell his name lol) but that's just me, Im sure a lot of people liked mkd's characters, I just didnt. MKDA has awsome new characters compared. and dont even get me started on shujinko.....

But no disrespect to your Ideas. I'd still like seeing Noob (as long as that metal shark-faced smoke was gone)

Where does it say that Raiden is evil? In his BIO he is good. In MKD he is good. He just got screwed up from the explosion. He's weak in power. As for Quan Chi....he's not dead yet since you see him teleport/run away before the explosion. It is safe to say that Shang Tsung is dead, but then again no one ever really dies in Mortal Kombat.

Of all the ideas I've heard for MK7, I actually like this one the most. The only problem I have with it is that it almost sounds like an SC storyline (everyone battling for possesion of this sword).

ALTERNATE BIOGRAPHY:
By the time my energies reformed in Earthrealm, I was aware of all that had transpired. I became disgusted with the doings of mortals. It was Shujinko's vanity and desire for glory that had led to the return of the Dragon King. I will no longer allow the will of men to determine the fate of this realm. They will fight for it, or I will destroy them. All will fear the new God of Thunder.

I dont know what bio youre reading...

haha. yeah true, but it still doesn't litterally say that he's evil, and even though raiden has become more ruthless he still doesn't mention any ill will, such as destruction or domination of the realms.

I agree with everything, except that part about Quan Chi suriving. I'm pretty sure he died. If he had survived the blast, I'm sure he would have been in the game itself. Both Quan and Shang died.

Raiden is NOT evil. He just got sick and tired of Earth Realm winning, but some a** decides to just screw the rules and keep fighting. Now he isn't going to be sage like and just kill anyone who decides to screw around. Although his methods are evil now, I don't think it had anything to do with the amulet killing him.

...hmm

interesting theory. i can't say i agree or disagree with it.

one question though, of the sorcerers who would you rather survive?

i pick quan chi

I don't give two hoots about the sorcs of MK. But if I had to chose... Quan Chi... Because Tsang just gets on my nerves. He has been waaay too over used now. Let him die. Leave him dead. And forget him.

I'd like to see a few more MK4 characters return. Just to SEE the MK team actually use them in more then one game and so they wouldn't have been just wasted story plots.

Shang has been over used and Quan hasn't!? Are you kidding me. They milked the whole Quan Chi thing out badly too.

I never said Q-Chi hadn't been overused. I find him boring too. I just said out of the two I'd rather have him. :)

Ah I understand. Shang has been used a lot in the old games. Quan has been used a lot in the new games. I guess they figured they may as well combine them and split the earnings. :P

I wish Shang had his moprhing power back, that would be amazing. And I miss quan chi's double broadswords?

That reminded me of something completely off topic...where the hell did shujinko get that other dienten dao for his fatalities/hara kiri? Why the hell didnt he use it to fight, but hed use it to cut his own arms off?

Yeah I know! What happened to Shang Tsung's morphing abilities? To tell you the truth, before you mentioned it here, I forgot he had them. Why did they get rid of that? It seemed so...central to his story.

As for Shujinko? Hes not really right in the head.... :P

If they did give Shang the morphing ability back, it causes somewhat of a dilemma with the martial arts styles. Will Shang be able to use the other players styles, or just the specials? If they just made him copy the specials that'd be lame, and copying the styles could make playing Shang extremely hard to do. Those are my thoughts....but I would like to see the morph back.

The reason they got rid of the morphing was because the hardware they were using for the game would kinda get screwed up whenever he morphed. That's why for example Shinnok just copies the guys and doesn't morph.
