My conclusion from playing the MK9 Demo...

To start things off, the game is freaking fast. Out of all the 4 playable characters, I'll have to say Sub-Zero is the slowest...
I felt that Johnny Cage was the fastest one. His kicks and combos are fast and quick. Mileena is pretty quick too. Now Scorpion is different, he is quick with the fact that his teleport punch catches you off guard. On the other hand, Sub-Zero feels kinda slow, due to the fact that when I try to freeze someone, they dodge it and do a combo on me, which sucks cuz Sub-Zero is my fav. character.
Overall, the gameplay is fast and is so detailed that sometimes I get sidetracked by the stages lol
Now, on the pit stage, you can clearly see Frost fighting at one time with what seems to be Daegon and sometimes with a woman that has white highlights. Then Daegon fights with what I believe to be Kenshi.

The demo is badass, with the only thing I didnt like is that I cant manage to be fast with Sub-Zero... :-?

EDIT: also, at the beginning of the fight, both players start with 1/3 full of the super meter, but whoever gets the first hit of the match gets it up to 2/3...which is nice cuz it adds intensity to the beginning of the match.
Also, I found it hard to do Johnny Cage's X-Ray move, it may be that I dont have good timing but its a counter-attack move, so you have to be precise when using his X-Ray move, thats the only thing I dont like about Johnny Cage.
OHH, and also, I like that the stages feel big and you can push your opponent all the way to the other side. Unlike in MKT where I felt like if I was inside a small box and if you got cornered that was pretty much the end of the match lol

to the mods: if there is a topic about this already you all are free to remove this post.

subzero seemed slow to me too because he was fast in MK v DC - but in this game he is a bit slower but he does alot of DMG - Johnny Cage is quick but doesn't do as much dmg

JC does like 11 hits for 26% and Subzero does like 4 or 5 hits for almost 30%

Subzero has some sick stuff though - my Friend mains him and LOVES him in this game. Im just playing with Johnny cage cause i dont like any of the other characters.

yh the game it self is very fast paced, i feel just fine playing with sub i wouldnt say that hes too slow, but after i play johnny(my second fav, the 1st being sub) and then go to sub i feel a little slow... but other then that i say sub is in a fine speed... in exception to his ground freeze, its the slowesttt thing i've ever seen!!!

o_O

What game did you play because I found it to be slow.....

SLOW!?!? omg Jade :-) just wondering have you played against your friends or just against the cpu

Play against me - ill show ya how fast it can be! :-P wont know what hit ya

I thought you couldn't play the demo online?

Anyways, yeah, I found it slow. Not sure if it is because I am straight off the Marvel vs Capcom 3 train so I am used to super fast fights but I found it to be rather slow. Not turtle slow but not fast enough for my liking.

i mean when the game comes out

Ok - now it makes sense

Yes marvel v. capcom = VERY VERY FAST

Mk9 = fast

Nah, not messin' with ya, I just personally found it slow, but, maybe it's just because I am used to the super quickness of Marvel vs Capcom 3 so everything else seems slow, even if it really isn't, lol.

whenever i watch marvel streams online - it is hard for me to even keep up with what is going on it is so fast paced

Don't forget guys, this is an early build of the game. The actual game is probably a little faster, a little tighter with the gameplay, and I'm sure way more fun.

I think its fast and I think Sub-Zero is decently fast and very powerful hes not a noob character, hes a little harder to use this time around and I like it

what do u guys expect the reason why sub-zero is a bit slow is because he's too powerful. imagine sub-zero with more speed he would be unstopable, his special moves are too great. its the same with johny cage he's really fast thats why his x-ray is only a counter attack. it would be unfair and then u really be complaining about something meaningful. the mk team knows what they are doing this is why im loving this game its so balanced.

I agree - just from the 4 characters in the demo - even with it not being the final build of the game, you can see how they have worked hard to try and balance everything out

Specifically, in the demo, I use Sub-Zero as my main fighter. My strategy with him is simply ice clone, ice clones, and ice clones....this works wonders when you know how to anticipate your opponents moves....Trust me, not being ****y but coming from a veteran's perspective this special move works to your advantage. This actually makes up for sub zero being slow.

Now I mastered a 10-hit, 42% mid-range kombo with sub zero, but i'm not telling anyone what the kombo button's dial ups are. You have to figure this out by yourself (HINT: its all about JUGGLING!!!!!)
**Combo description: starts with a two hit ending with a freeze, pop up, two hit, three hit, and combo ends with a slide. (Have yet to try the ex-slide with it [makes a total of 11-hits with ex-slide]....might do more than 42% with ex-slide....maybe 45% but i will try and update)
**

Tips in MK:
-BLOCK (Know your opponents highs, mids and lows; also, know your own highs, mids and lows)
-Dodge (Dash, jump backwards, duck, teleport, etc.)
-Only be aggresive when needed (Usually play agressive with lower ranked opponents; Opposite for higher tournament style players)
-Most importantly, learn to time combos and especially incorporate JUGGLES in your gameplay.
-Lastly, don't be impatient and get stressed out when you fail in practicing combos; thus, this is what practicing is all about.

NOTE:
I have uploaded a video of mk vs. dcu FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEMONSTRATING the "juggle combos"
as i am waiting for the xbox360 version of mk9 (reboot). the mk9 i played was the ps3 one at my friend's house (where i learned how to do sub-zero's 10 hit juggle combo).
In the meantime, check out this mk vs. dc scorpion combo juggle video i posted on my youtube page, hopefully the noobs can learn something:
