There is a 50% Chance of Mortal kombat 9 also being a NONCANON Like its bad predecessor MK8
because the storyline is a pretty much a reboot back to the original(s) to get people bacc into MK
and pay us back for the 2008 blood-less disaster.
MK9 is reprising the role of all the classic characters (Excluding Kratos)
If MK9 Is a success and MK10 Happens..

it should have the same elements of MK9 Of course
it should be a canon since there hasnt been one in awhile and it should include:
classic characters
(Some) New Characters [Ex. Kenshi, Frost, Taven, Blaze etc]
and all the hidden characters that never saw the light or has ever been playable like:

Tremor (Especially!!)
No face( At least in story mode or sum10 )
Sareenna
Hydro

Cant think of anymore..
 
This is actually Canon... There is time traveling in it! that's how they returned back to MK 1-3 ;}
But I guess it's not really time travel... it's just a warning from MKA raiden back to MK1 raiden. but still... who doesn't love time-mumbojumbo?

yeah, if the time warp thing didnt happen, the only classic characters in MK still alive would be shao kahn :P and maybe mileena, baraka, and the other minions of shao kahn.

Tremor I can deal with seeing. But I mean.. I love the ninjas that are in the game already, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We really don't need another. Besides he isn't all that interesting and is from a game that Ed Boon probably wants to forget ever existed. No Face? Really? He looks like Michael Jackson with a flamethrower strapped on and was the first boss to get his ass kicked by Jax in that game. Wasn't Sareena already in Armageddon? What did she do aside from blowing Sub Zero? Hydro would be okay to see I guess, but as I said before: THERE IS ENOUGH NINJAS!
 
If Boon, Hector and the rest of the team says the game takes place where armageddon left off, then it is as canon as can be. Nuff said.
 
The fact is: going back in time knowing the future means that you can actually change it!
That implies that the whole story during MK1-3 can be altered, as well as everything post MK3, which could turn being totally different, with brand new characters and story.
I think that's the way to go: after MK9 a totally new menace could arise, and this is a good chance to get rid of all the useless characters and storylines (except the Deadly Alliance stuff which I found a good idea) post-MK3 and go in a totally new direction, with new enemies/situations and shit.
And please: NO MORE NINJAS!!!

uhmm...i'm sorry but MK is not MK without ninjas...

Ninjas are the face of Mortal Kombat. Without them, MK is not as interesting.

Uh I noticed everything in your paragraph. But through most of it I was like "No shit, Sherlock."

And I didn't "mislead" what you meant.

You said no more ninjas. Well I sure as hell hope they don't keep reusing the same ninjas in future games and give a few of them a break. And in doing so, they should introduce a new one.

Yeah, I know what he said. And what I'm saying is, somewhere down the road, you're gonna have to introduce new ninjas... Otherwise the idea of them well get pretty damn stale. And when the face of your series goes bad, you've got a problem.

That's the main point: we don't need any new ninja, the ones we have are enough! They should instead create some really new, interesting character!
I mean, look back: you have the ninjas, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kano, Goro etc, everyone is different and unique, as for the look and personality, so we really need another unoriginal masked character??? I don't think so, we need new, really bastard bad guys to threatens the EarthRealm and even more badass good guys to face'em!
 
No new characters: we got all the post MK3 ones that should be characterized, redesigned and redone well. Only some names: Reiko, Kai, Havik, Jarek, Hotaru, Mavado, Li Mei and other like them. Oh, except Mokap :P
