This rhyme says it all
beat from "Dem Boys" from Boyz in da Hood)
"Punks dissin' MK, talkin' bout it got wack,(it got wack)
Don't give me that piece of shit, put it back,(put it back)
They say it ain't been good since '94, and when they put out 'nother one i'ma talk shit some more.(DAAAAMN!)
I told'em that this new one gon' knock'em out, if they talk shit bout it again, I'll clock'em out.
Leaving from tracy towers, gotta get to the store, it gon' be on sale in bout an hour.(bout an hour)
It got that old school feel, it just about the fighting, only way to win to kill( that's riight)
Same dude dissin MK before, came back on the low Bought it for both systems and ran out the door. (HEY!)"
As corny and/or wack this rhyme is, I think you get the picture.
MK was the greatest, until MK3 made it just another game, and people started talking trash about it. Then when DA came out, the same people dissing it and saying they ain't buying another one bought it, some for both systems. I really loved how they took it back to the essence of mortal kombat, the fighting and the story, but what really impressed me was the fact that they gave it a graphical overhaul, which it needed desperately. The Stance fighting system made it replayable beyond the initial 20 or so times you'd play it to see the endings of all they characters in the game. The fatalities were few, but where they lacked in bounty they made they up for in originality, even if they all weren't liked, they were appreciated. This really bought nostalgia and joy to all who had it, and I'am glad i was the very first to buy it in my borough, THE BRONX, BOOGIE BABY! WHAT!
