Mortal Kombat 1 General Discussion Media Thread

I stopped bothering with randos online some time mid-way (no pun intended) through MKX.

These days, if it doesn't have online lobbies where I can play against my IRL friends, then I don't give a flying fuck about the online aspect of it.
Got sick and tired of dealing with people's horse shit online about a decade ago.
I'll get the Kollection so that I can revisit MK4 upscaled to 4X (and play friends there) and get the behind-the-scenes stuff when it's $20~$25.
 
Randomly connect to another player? Quick match? LMAO! They really don’t give a shit anymore. Are they for real?! WB is clearly sending this collection to die while they comically try to get whatever pocket change they can before they’re sold off. How anyone can defend this shit is beyond me.
 
Yeeeep. Well I guess if Steam Remote play works, one can play with a friend "online". But still... 50 bucks for this? Yeaaaaah. Nah. Once private lobbies are there. Sure. But right now... my nostalgia doesn't make me THAT cheap.
 
The more I looked at entire thing the worse it got... just watched Tom Brady's video too.

Yeah... can't even get the classics working properly. Massive input delays just on MK4. Yeah, fuck them. Fuck them all. Don't even look forward to potential 3D games release. Waste of time.

Man, and I allowed myself to even get excited. As usual I don't learn from my mistakes at all. Absolute retard, that's what I am.

What makes even less sense is that PC has the fightcade version of the classic MKs which is vastly superior to whatever the fuck this is supposed to be. It's like I already stated WB dont care about MK or it's ''Legacy'' (pun intended). This is a painfully rushed out cash grab. Unless some insane patches are on the way in less than two weeks to fix the online. It's over.

To be honest, I have strong doubts even for those updates that they promised within weeks. Might be just as rushed as the rest of the collection.
 
Everything about this Kollection has been rushed since day one. I knew it was over when Brady mentioned how bad the offline input delay is on PS5. The online is a joke. The game audio is broken. I could go on and on...I mean what did they think was going to happen releasing this Kollection in such a broken state? Ketchup who works closely with NRS and digital eclipse even had make a apology video over this mess. That's how insane this situation is.

Regarding the rushed patches....from what I've seen they're not really fixing much. The PC steam version is getting the best results but it's still not fixed. The console versions are still busted. Again, I don't own the game so I have no idea if any of these patches addressed any of the issues. Until ranked matches is added and the input delay is fixed on PS5.....I'm avoiding this shit like the plague.
Update....apparently there has been a few patches released to address the input delay, sound ect; PC players have lobbies now? Well there's videos of it anyway. I'm assuming consoles will get this soon as well No word on when/if rank will be added. Again this doesn't change my feelings toward the legacy collection but it's a step in the right direction. I'm still waiting for most of the kinks to be ironed out before I purchase it.

So essentially entire process is rush the port out quickly, then proceed in the most possibly chaotic way add patches, while everything is either collapsing or holding on hopes and dreams. Aha. Got it.

Pretty much. The only reason they're doing anything at all mind you is because Sony is issuing full refunds on psn. Something Sony hasn't done since that botched ps4 Cyberpunk launch debacle. I'm sure WB is lovin that.

Oh hell yeah. WB is punching air out of sheer happiness right now.

Business wise. MK value has tanked drastically. It is now a billion dollar franchise just on paper. If the movie flops too, then it is official. MK is a damaged brand. That won't kill it, but it will be definitely mangled. If the next game performs like crap, that's where MK will be facing the door.

Craziest shit out of all of this input lag stuff (to me) is that the Xbox Series S has had the lowest amount of input delay.
PS5 = 108ms
Series X = 51.60ms
Series S = 50.80ms
The console which people love to shit on this generation has the lowest amount of input lag. Lol
 
Apparently digital eclipse released another patch on Ps5 to address the input delay......again and some other fixes as well. I doubt any of this will matter because by the time they do finally get it to work. Most people would have refunded or just moved on altogether.

I have no issue waiting until things get further patched.
Sadly, WB doesn't learn / give a shit.
They force their dev teams to rush shit out and it needs tons of fixing, then end up getting backlash for it.
