MK9 for vita gameplay.

I know that it won't happen, but I wish that NRS would make those costumes available as DLC for PSN and XBLA.
I'd buy those costumes in a heartbeat.

As I said before though, I'm not holding my breath for it.
Just wishful thinking. :-|

I would too i would buy these costumes in a heart beat if they were released for the Xbox 360/PS3 consoles especially because i love to play with mileena and i would love to play in her MK2 outfit... wishful thinking of course :/

I honestly see no point in spending $250 + an extra $60 for a game i already have on my PS3 console which contains better graphics better gameplay than the PSVita due to the minor background changes, and just to be able to play with the 16 new outfits? I think i will pass on this

I wish MK9 VITA had cross platform play with PS3. But Ed said that it won't be in any time.
Whats the whole deal of not releasing these costumes on the platform systems i mean as long as they sell right? Many people including myself purchased every single dlc including the least one wanted which was Freddy, i was really hoping to get MK2 Mileena and MK2 Skarlet the least since we already have MK2 Jade and Kitana

So hyped for this. As a long time mk player now I can take the game on the road like I did when I was a kid with mk2 on my game boy. Preordered and countin the days.

Vita is a strong fighting game portable. Blaz an umvc are insane and I can only expect mk to pick right up

It's a damn shame that the graphics have been downgraded when UMVC3 on the Vita has console quality graphics.

Then again, UMVC3 didn't have a full dedicated story mode or challenge tower, which would take up space on the PSVita game card. That's probably why they were able to fit the console-quality graphics on the PSVita port of UMVC3, they had more space on the game card.

Let’s start from the top: Mortal Kombat on the PS Vita looks identical to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions that hit store shelves last year. Naturally, some sacrifices were made in porting it to Sony’s handheld, such as lowering the character models’ textures, but you won’t even notice it when you play the game on the PS Vita’s 5-incher. Mortal Kombat is a damned fine-looking fighter that runs at a buttery 60 frames per second. That was Ed Boon’s decree.

Mortal Kombat leverages the PS Vita’s touch capabilities to bring a new dimension to the popular 2D fighter. Fatalities can be delivered with on-screen swipes instead of controller taps, and unleashing devastating X-Ray moves requires users to simply bring a finger to the X-Ray icon. These worked well in a hands-on demo, and are completely optional.

That’s not all: there’s a new Fruit Ninja-like slicing mini-game where you cut items that certainly aren’t edibles, and a new balancing mini-game where you must use the PS Vita’s accelerometer to keep a fighter on a beam positioned over Mortal Kombat‘s infamous spiked pits. Boon and company love to keep the franchise fresh with new additions, and these were unexpectedly fun diversions that will please those in need of a lightning quick gaming fix.

There’s also a new challenge tower with over 150 brand new missions, some of which demand you tap incoming projectiles to prevent taking damage. This, of all the touchscreen additions, felt the most out-of-place as fighting and making multiple screen taps was awkward. Mortal Kombat uses the PS Vita’s augmented reality powers to let you fight against any real-world backdrop. It also supports in-game smack talk using the integrated mic. Now onto some fun facts!

Mortal Kombat does not require a memory card. The game saves to the cart, as will any future gameplay tweaks/updates/DLC. It required some extra elbow grease, but NetherRealm studios is thinking of the fans. And on the topic of tweaks, gameplay has been tightened to fix busted combos that abused damage scaling holes.

We learned that NetherRealm Studios likes the idea of crossover fighting games. The studio didn’t mention specifics of any plans, but Street Fighter was mentioned multiple times, as well as the potential red tape that comes with the idea of giving a fatality to a known commodity like Ken. This was a problem that DC vs. Mortal Kombat faced. But some known commodities were easier to put in the game than others.

More crossover games, huh. MK vs Killer Instinct interests me the most, but MK vs SF I'm sure would be better than DC, at least. I can deal with toned down fatalities as long as the gameplay itself is solid and that the game has a lot of replay value (one of my main problems with MK vs DC Universe). BTW, DLC is possible on the Vita, right?
