MK1 Wasted Money

That's a completely different idea, what I'm saying is that even if the costumes weren't first pre-order bonuses, we would still have to pay for them. It kind of seems like a form of tricking us, saying they were free if you got it from a different store but you had to pay if you didn't pre-order, but now all the new Retro costumes are free. Basically, when you can't tell the difference between MK2 Kitana and MK3 Kitana, I would have rather waited for the Compatibility pack than pay $5 for another one.

Ehh, no. that's not the case. Those skins were given away in different promotions. The point of charging for them is that people who wanted them and actually went to the store and pre-ordered got them for free, and the rest have the option to purchase them. Why purchase? To not kill the point of the gamer who bought the movie, got Tournament Edition, or Pre-ordered at X store. Why are the ones in compability packs free? Because AFAIK all of them are on disc, and it also serves as an incentive for people to download Compability Patches AND make the game live for some more months.

So if those costumes weren't part of any pre-order exclusive, we'd have them free.

Focus on this, the point of this thread is not why the MKI Kostumes aren't free, it's whether or not people feel remorseful about getting the costumes because the new ones are free. I'm not blaming NRS for anything, the trickery is just good business decisions.

And I have to agree with everyone here, the retro fatalities are pretty great, I was disappointed with every MK game to come out without Subby's head rip :)
