MK movie update/MK Legacy discussion

.

Dude if it's a based on the first tournament which takes place on an island fortress and has a relatively slim roster then I doubt it would be that hard to flesh out.....You add the other elements in as the franchise goes on.

It's really not rocket science because it's not much to really "explain" if you arent trying to shoehorn EVERY games plot elements from the start Introduce it throughout the trilogy.

I agree they can do a little bit of that stuff little by little, the first movie did some of that, they did it right for the time, annihilation tried to continue on the same vein and amp all the fantasy stuff and failed, looks like legacy 2 is going to do something similar to the first movie, except they get transported to the island, exactly what i thought about as soon as i saw the predators movie and i thought it would work really well for mk, it looks pretty cool to me and seems like kevin is not abusing the fantasy elements of mk. The movie sequels will fail if kevin starts bringing in all the fantasy elements slowly and then change directors for the sequels, it will be annihilation all over again

I don't agree Annihilation falied because the direction, plot, choreography, acting, special effects everything was garbage.
you can add sorcery and fantasy elements and come out with a great film but it requires balancing the fantasy elements with the action and real world elements.

Yeah that seemed like a really strange point to end on a cliffhanger ... why not just do one, maybe two extra episodes and just wrap up the tournament?

His supernatural vest of holding of course! Considering Raiden made the point that Johnny is meant to be supernaturally fast, shouldn't we have seen him doing something with that apart from running away super fast?

We saw him throw it twice and hit things with the edge, it seems like the Legacy Kung Lao just doesn't have razors in his hat

Honestly I thought it was pretty good. I retract SOME of my earlier statements. KTanch looks like he's taking it in an interesting direction

Kenshi was awesome! Used a fighting style similar to the game, T.K. powers, faithful costume. he was cool

Ermac's costume could have used a little more work, though i like the fact that they made him a demon they should have covered his face.

I like Kung Lao's new attitude I think he is a great character so far

Lui Kang took me a little while to warm up to but I have to say I like the "evil" angle and the fact that he was the former MK Champion. It's working for me.

Scorpion was great! I liked how they integrated some of his game moves into his character, he was creepy and a perfect undead ninja.(and i don't even like scorpion. Like at all)

Sub-zero- What the hell was that??? ya couldn't have given him a a better costume than that?? All ya had to do was use the costume from the first season, remove the fur, and change the grey to black and add some forearm coverings. I hope the big screen adaption gets a better costume.

Stryker didn't do too much at all. But it was cool to have him in there

Johnny cage was ok though he should have used his shadow kick at least once. and he dropped the "f-bomb" too much, but i kinda like the washed up actor JC.

Kitana and Mileena were good though the acting could have had a little more feeling (kitana) and the choreography could have been a little faster.(more kicks less weapons). I did like the actresses who portrayed them however they were both beautiful and overall good choices. I actually felt like i was looking at Kitana and Mileena.

Pros: Story wise I like the new approach to MK.

It's more grounded with out being "hokey",

the fantasy elements have been worked in nicely without being over done.

Good choices as far as character portrayal. Good fights

Cons: I can't tell if the orient was never opened to western influences or if these guys are time travelers.

Some of the choreography could have been a little more like the first season.

SUB-ZERO'S F*****G COSTUME!!!

Acting.

All in all I though it was good and I actually have faith that if the new MK movie is going to take a similar approach it will be pretty interesting. Though I seriously hope they find someone else to play Shao Kahn. And I hope they do a better job on Sub's costume. wtf!!

I guess that everyone here have already seen the Season 2.

Uhm.. I have a question. . This thing bothers me. .

First, Kuai Liang is an Fvcking A'hole and he got killed even before first MK tournament. Soooo, how are we going to have a second Subzero that will avenge Bi Han's death.

Second, Kevin Tancharoen said that the season 2 will focus on the first tournament, but why is that Stryker's there, and Mileena which is killed even before the first tournament was completed?

I would really love to see a third season for this :D

Since some of their back stories had dates that would have made it impossible for them to still be alive I'm assuming that in Legacy the portals to the tournament open up across time, so these are the greatest fighters from Earthrealm from any time period I guess.

I'm guessing one of his modern day descendents or a reincarnation of Kuai Liang or something along those lines will happen. Either that or Legacy will ignore Subby from this point on completely and focus on the Noob Saibot story.

Legacy is only based on the games - Liu Kang said he fought in a tournament ten years ago and took Shang Tsung's head, that shouldn't have happened if this were a straight interpretation of the game. Stryker was in S1 so why not have him in S2 if you aren't going to have Sonya or Jax?

Kevin Tancharoen is not following the timeline of the games.

I thought this season was okay...same as the last one.

Issues for me was: still short episode lengths(which means rushed work, which I saw a bit of), fights(they were not that great honestly), acting, costumes(sub zero, ermac) and cliffhanger...i mean really? an RIGHT THERE of all places? Liu vs Lao? cmon! What makes it worse is that I could be in for yet another almost 2 year wait.

I DID like Kenshi's story, I liked Bi Han in this legacy, such an honorable and reasonable man, both BI han and Hanzo were! Kuai was a dick though. Its usually almost the opposite in the games. And if im not mistaken, did they say kuai was killed? Damn, killed BOTH Sub Zeros. I know thier fans are pissed! Lol

SCORPION FTW!!!! Did Bi han's own move against him!

I enjoyed 'Dark Liu Kang', honestly his fights were the only ones I liked, aside from KvsM. I enjoyed Kung Lao but im not too cool with him abandoning Kang like that during that time of his life. So once again, I can't blame liu for acting out against Lao as he did with Raiden in MK9.

Stryker ;useless as usual...

I did like cage alittle bit, He put that speed enhancement to 'realistic' use. lol

Overall again, I thought this season was okay. 3.5/5 for me. It wasnt bad but not that great either.

Best Legacy fight ive seen thus far has been Cyrax and Sektor vs Hydro.
