MK Kombo VS. SF Combo

I've played Mortal Kombat for like 18 years now. As I'm not the best that's ever played, I certainly know what I'm doing to a very large extent. I love doing crazy high damage combos and juggles and all that jazz. Hell my main on UMK3 is Shang Tsung cuz I just like to morph into a different guy everytime and do my juggle b4 I morph back. Cyrax on MK9 I juggle like Tony T cuz those combos to me are the sweetest ones I've ever seen. The point of this is that I know what I'm doing...

However, I've learned that all of this means absolutely nothing in the Street Fighter world. I get past the Ultra Combo trial and start with the actual 2-hit combos....nothing works. I'm hitting Crouched MP followed by Crouched LP and trying every timing possible and nothing works. I feel like I'm 5 years old again when I couldn't do the Yoga Teleport on SF2 cuz didnt understand how to do exactly what it's showing me right in front of my face lol. There's just something I have to be missing.

If anyone could shed any light on this so I don't think I'm just an idiot that would be great. Haha thanks :)

I'm a noob at SF4 too, the only combo I can perform is with Ken.

Jump punch, uppercut, shoryuken and shoryureppa.

I'm having a hard time using enhanced attacks in combos.

I have SSf4 and I got to say the combo trials are f*cking hard. That's not the point. The point is that you have to keep practicing the inputs until you have it down to muscle memory. As for the two hit combo trials you have to mash the hell out of those two buttons to make it work.

And here is something, if you have trouble on shoryuken motions then here is a suggestion, do a forward then quarter circle (half circle) and punch button. This works for any character that has that crazy Z motion next to it. Street Fighter is all about speed and timing. If you can get that down with alot of practice then you should be able to pull off combos.

Also who is your main character for street fighter?

Yeh man, I can do a few little combos here n there but not the basic beginner ones lol. I only got this game because I refuse to play MK online at all cuz of the lag. Going from a game where I know everything to a game where I know nothing makes me feel like such a *****. I just wanna know the secret.

So mashing is the secret? You have to press these buttons a couple times instead of just 1-2? Cuz I'll try it. I dont have trouble with the motions cuz i used to play SF2 back in the day. I just use Ryu until I have this game down.

Yeah mashing helps me out when I do the combo trials :D. You could that or try to find a rhythm to it, that always helps

I think BlazBlue has the best net code, you might wanna try that game.

MK9's combos don't hit confirm like other fighters do. For the most part, you input commands even before the previous attack is finished. You pretty much have to go all in with your combo or else the combo is lost.

The window of executing combos in SF4 is tight. If you enter a move to soon or too early, it won't connect.

The following explains execution better than I can.
