i mean the fights are mortal kombat style with fatalities and such. The tournament host is like a shang tsung characters. A Raiden character is in it. They have various styles like Noob's monkey style, etc.

I never saw this movie before, what do you mean by a "Raiden character
" in the movie? I always thought Raiden was based on the character Lightning from the movie Big Trouble in Little China. Well I think the setting of Mortal Kombat really seems inspired by Big Trouble...

Meh, it sounds like it may have, but I believe that Big Trouble in Little China is the original one MK was based off of.
