Liu Kang's Disconnected Upper Half

I was just playing some MKD this fine evening catching up on some styles (prep for MK:A you know) and getting a few endings that I missed my third time through when I noticed a strange occurence. I originally noticed it during his b,b,b,f,2 fatality that his lower half is completely disconnected from his upper half. This is very much noticable in the Kuatan Palace as you can visibly see the orange Lava peeping through the place where his torso connects. I don't know why I never noticed this before, but it is very sloppy on the part of the developers. If I had a camera I would get a picture, but if you have Liu Kang (alternate costume) as Player 1 on the Kuatan Palace level, it's pretty obvious.

Thats odd because i just did it and it was fine. I couldnt see any lava because the level went all black. But he stayed in one piece.

Well see that's the thing, I never noticed it on any other level because on dark backgrounds it's barely noticable. But when I did his fatality on the Nethership I could clearly see a gap between his upper and lower bodies when he did his victory pose at the end (the flame fatality, not the head rip). I tried replicating it and it happened exactly the same. Note this was all on his alt. costume.

It isn't like his top half falls on the ground, there's just a small gap between the two halves. I want to know if this is just my disc or does this happen with other people too? Did you test it IR?
