LA Noire

I got it for my fiancee and she played the hell out of it for the first 2 days. Then I read a few articles claiming that it was damaging some of the older 60/80G PS3's (like the one I have), so it's been put on hold til I get some more news. Other than that it looked pretty good.

I'm pretty sure they released a patch to fix that already LINK. Although I see no mention to that, but people told me it did...

If anyone has played a Rockstar game, you should already know how repetitive it is going to be so, yeah, shouldn't be surprised. Red Dead and GTA were repetitive games, this one is no different. Still, all these games are awesome, anyways, but I am getting rather tired of car chases, guys running away, having to go get a confession.....and these Black Dahlia murders, ugh, I can't wait until it ends.

Other than that, it really is a great game, just wish I didn't have to do the same shit 800 times.

My buddy got it last week and immediately texted me to tell me how awesome it is. I'll pick it up when I've got the cash.

I have 2 more homicide cases left before moving to vice, and I love the game so far. I just wish I had more time to play it.

I have 2 cases left in homicide and I love this game. You do have to do the same things over and over again but so far I have had a great time with it. The voice acting and facial expressions are awesome.

Beat it... starts off interesting... gets boring and extremely repetitive real fast. It was way to easy to do everything, by disc 2 I became so uninterested in the story line I began to skip cut scenes. Rockstar seems to have left it unmastered on purpose. LA Noire 2 will be improved and much better I'm guessing. Red Dead is waaaaaayyyyyyy better

L.A. Noire. Should I pick it up?

Ok well I was always a big fan of Rockstar. Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat and Grand Theft Auto. Best games ever. Anyway I own Red Dead Redemption too. What a masterpiece. Well now I don't like video games as much as I used to so I'm usually only playing Resident Evil 5 or Mortal Kombat 9. Should I get L.A. Noire since I love Rockstar? I'm just concerned on how much fun I can get out of it. I gotta admit I was watching gameplay and the environment looks very dull but that's out of what I saw. The graphics are great but my friend said the driving is a downgrade. The case solving looks awesome but the fact that you can't go around shooting people when you have free time like in GTA is a bit of a let down and there is no multiplayer but at least it makes sense that since I'm a detective why would I be shooting people? Sixty bucks is a lot of money so should I buy the game? Borrow it from a friend? Or just pass on it entirely? Thanks for the help

Re: L.A. Noire. Should I pick it up?

I like it.. but if you have doubt's then you should borrow or rent it.. try out a couple cases, and go from there... it's not a fast paced game.. you have to take your time, and pay close attention.

good luck!
