i know kung lao's spin is punishable by a full combo. i can never seem to punish that move more than about 30% of the time. and when i do its not with a combo. and on top of that i NEVER have ever seen anyone punish it with a combo at all. so if my thinking is right, the regular guy playing will allways be screwed by it. im just wondering if only players with extream skill, like the top % of players can do that. and if so which seems to be the case from what ive seen is this spin a problem? i know its a ghetto poll put but to everybody out there please say YEA or NAY if you have seen it happen often.
 
Spin is completely safe on block... because its op.

Not completely safe on block. But damn near close.

OP uses Mileena right? She can punish a blocked spin with roll - and if memory serves me correct, that leads into a combo.

Sub-Zero's 2,2 can punish it easily and link it to a full combo. Specially if they use it as a wake up attack.
 
It's punishable by full combos but you have to dash in first before you start your move because he gets pushed back (for some absolutely retarded reason). You really have perfect timing on your dash and your move though otherwise he'll be free to block afterward.

I know the developers see threads like these and think "Oh silly people, it IS punishable by full combos" but what I don't think they understand is that because the window for punishing it is so small that most of the time it goes unpunished. Spin is one of, if not THE, best move in the game. Why is it so hard to punish? Really now....

Would making for punishing it bigger be that big of a deal for NRS? Come on.... it's already punishable by full combos, why not just make it so its a little less unforgiving. The move comes out crazy fast and by the time your mind grasps that you have to punish a random spin he's already recovering.

I consider myself a really great player in this game and honestly Kung Lao is still my #1 worst matchup only because I have to live in constant fear of "Am I going to punish the spins in time....." because if your not fast enough Kung Lao will jump away and dive kick you to start ANOTHER juggle attempt and/or keep his pressure going one way or another.

Please NRS, I know you read these forums. Making Kung Lao do less damage was a step in the right direction but pleaseeeeeeeee make the spin more punishable or at least make it so he doesn't space himself SOOOOOO far apart after using it. EX Spin is just as punishable put it's easier to punish because he doesn't space himself afterward.

It won't make Kung Lao any worse of a character. It really wouldn't. It's already punishable by full combos but 80% of time time even top players screw up the timing despite practicing how to punish it with friends for a long long time.

I've been following the patches/tweaks and the game in general from its release and I really think after this patch hits that this game will be pretty damn balanced. The only thing that is missing is making the spin more punishable, I cringed when I didn't see it on the patch notes.

Pleaseeeee NRS. Pleaseeeee listen. This isn't just another random person complaining. The whole MK/SF/MvC3 community in Florida feels the same.
 
Please don't nerd Kung Lao and let him be. His spin and all other moves are punishable. People who don't know how to exploit characters.weaknesses shouldn't have the right to pass judgement on a character.

^^ This. Have those complaining about him ever try to use him? I consider Lao to be my 2nd most used character and since I started using him knowing how and when to punish got tons easier.

just remove the spacing on a blocked spin so you dont have to dash in. done and done.
 
Tom Brady has reported that Kung Lao's Spin is going to lose 90% of its knockback in the upcoming patch. He posted on TYM's forum today.
