It's repetitious, but it didn't take too long to get the Dragon King card set.
I didn't see it as being any different than grinding for unlockable characters in the 3D era games, where unlocking a character felt like an achievement in itself.
Now, you grind through the Krypt for costumes, art work, Brutalities and Fatalities, and the characters are sold to you separately.
IMO, it was more tedious going through 474 Krypts in the 3D games, but I didn't mind it either.
It was fun.
Not to mention going through Konquest mode again to meditate on some of the treasure chests, at a certain time of the day, at a certain part of the map, in Deception, to unlock Liu Kang.
It actually felt like you accomplished something, whereas now it's been replaced with "Woo-hoo. Here's your Trophy / Achievement for doing 100 Brutalities and another trophy / achievement for doing every character's ladder ending."
Oh, you mean the 100 Brutalities and the character endings that I did within 2 days of owning the game? Thanks.
There's also no purpose to the grind when the same alt costumes can either be achieved by either finishing a character Tower, rather than going through the Krypt.
What's the incentive to go into the Krypt, in the first place, if you can also get the character's secondary alt costume by finishing a quick 10 character Tower an not spending any in-game Koins?
There's no incentive to the Krypt, like there used to be.
