Its Mortal Kombat all over again

Sadly it appears in terms of costumes its Mortal Kombat all over again. Batman with 4 alternates, Superman with 5. I have a feeling that if we get new costumes via DLC its going to be the same 3-4 characters while everyone else gets nothing :(

I was saying this on SRK earlier. Someone told me Ed Boon said they already had almost 100 alt costumes in the wings. I don't know the validity of this, but I hope it's true.

According to this there are only 48 currently available to unlock in game and a large majority of them are pre order/iOS unlockables, buying the collectors edition, buying the battle edition, buying the seasons pass etc etc

I really hope that 100 costumes thing is true. Id love for all the characters to get new costumes not just a few like they did with Mortal Kombat
 
So if what the dude says has any merit, there are around that same number coming.

I hope so at least. With all the history and renditions the DC characters have gone through NRS has a huge amount of options.
 
Why do people care so much about alt outfits? Just wondering. I never really got why that was at the top of some people's lists when it comes to games. I don't mind alts, it's cool to see other looks, but, it really doesn't bother me at all if they are included or not. I just want a game to be fun and have good replay value. Alt costumes are somewhere at the bottom of my list.
 
Alt costumes are great for variety. Especially when you play the game a lot, it feels good to see a little something new. Also makes maining characters feel better. King in XTekken has the best alts in the game and is honestly the only reason I put up with using such an ass character (I'm ass with him)
 
100 costumes? Good god almighty.

Glad I've got the Arkham skin for Batman though, at least that looks like Batman not some Iron Batman.
 
I think the interview was from kotaku? Maybe... Anyways, Ed boon DID say "there are something like 100 costumes, so it's really crazy"

Well those were palette swaps.

If they gave classic costumes to everyone in MK9, it'd be much more work than making 1 costume, and color swapping for all the ninjas.
