Yes in the Wu Shi academy I believe the portal is before you enter the burning section of the stage. I believe this is where it's at, can't remember for sure right now, but it's in Wu Shi.

There is a Fist Of Ruins statue on the right, that you can bust and go past to get to "Shang's Island" which basically is the end of the Goro's Lair stage.

Actually the portal is right next to the portal to outworld, next to the 2 masked guards.
