Interesting cover for Kollectors guide at BN.com

lol. I highly doubt that's the case. I just think they never bothered updating the picture to what the cover really looks like. I had just thought it was interesting because even at the other sites, I never seen this specific picture.
 
I just want to state this... so people can take it for what it is, but being that I took a marketing course in college... either one or both of these sites web designers are idiots, or BN is being very deceptive.

Mortal Kombat Official Strategy Guide Collector's Edition (that's the title given on the gamestop site)

Mortal Kombat Kollector's Edition: Prima Offical Game Guide (thats from the BN site)

Not to mention the price for BN is $20.21.. the regular strategy guide on Gamestop is $19.99 coincidence?

I think BN are being very deceptive to try and get sales... their product details describe it as Format: Hardcover , 320pp so.. I honestly don't know.
 
is there a difference between Barnes & Nobles strategy guide and gamestops? i know the covers are difference and i see everyone talking about them above. but i want to know if what is inside is any difference. BN has it for 20$ and gamestop is showing 34.99...?

There are two different editions of the strategy guide. The regular and collector's editions.

I think BN is trying to pass off the regular one as the collector's edition to get sales.
 
I don't think they are trying to deceive anyone. In fact, I just ordered my copy from BN because I had a $25 GC burning a hole in my pocket. They say that it's the Kollectors edition, with hard-cover and all of the containing material that is posted at every other website. Amazon has it for roughly the same price (without shipping)

Express delivery is only about $5 at BN so i'll have it the same week as the game.

Well if that's the case, then somebody's site isn't updated. And if everything is updated, it's retarded to have a different cover for different stores.
 
I have to wonder, just how useful will these guys (however complete) be once they patch the game a few times and change things around? Especially since we now know that NRS is really looking out for their community, I'm sure they will patch the game regularly.

Yup. Like I said, I'm pretty sure BN didn't update their site yet. Doesn't matter what picture they put up as long as they send me the right one, I'm good to go.

yeah when i talked to them today they said the same thing as you. that its the same as every other site. thanks for info man. +rep

They probably posted a different picture to try and cheat people, once you buy it they will say, oh our mistake we will have that page updated and fixed.
