Heavy spoilers! Death in mortal kombat (2011) other than fatalities!

I highly doubt Mileena died in the battle. I think that she will become the leader of both Outworld and Edenia, since I think they are still merged.

- Evil side : Mileena, Sheeva, Baraka, Quan Chi, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Kano, Goro, Kintaro


But, don't worry, people, if Raiden tried to change the Armaggedon fact, and even Sindel who once was dead and was ressurrected, I'm sure NRS can try something to bring back who they think can be alive again in the next game.
 
I loved that scene. Sindel is my gurrrrl. <3
My theory is that they'll all return in the next game as part of the Netherrealm's army.
 
I am not going to lie I am pretty damn upset.
Now, this is just talking hypothetical and assuming that it goes as I think, which may or may not be true.
This is just my honest opinion/rant about the story, please feel free to skip it.

I get that they are trying to reboot a series and turn it into something new, but why would you want to kill off characters like Smoke, Stryker, and Kabal whom outside of MKIII series and Armageddon haven't been anywhere else.
They are out shinned by all the other important character of Mortal Kombat and when they do came back in a big way they get killed off.
Now that they're dead what happens?
If anything thing I thought they would've been the ones to live since they are not in the spot nearly as much as the other characters are Johnny Cage/Sonya/Kitana/Kung Lao.
I am upset at the poor choices I THINK they made.

If you watch one of the following clips it shows him lined up with the others dead. Thankfully my favorite characters don't die horrible deaths lol.
 
They are dead in EARTHREALM. All of their soul's are under Quan Chi's control in the Nether Realm. I smell a sequel. Shinnok and Quan Chi are going to attempt to overtake Outworld and Earth. It will be interesting to see who Earth Realm's new kombatant's will be and who is recovered from the Nether. Excellent twist on things NRS!!

Pretty much- I see Kitana, Sub-Zero (sans Cyberness) and make Jade and Smoke coming back. Either way, this could be way cool.
 
Not gonna lie, I HATE the story in this game. It's actually almost put me off buying it! I don't like how certain characters just got completely ignored for the most part (Mileena mainly, she was involved in it what, twice?) and then everyone dies. Aside from Sonya and Cage. I hate Cage. I understand they're trying to be all shocking and gripping and "OMG I MUST SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT"(spend £55 on the sequel) but this game is meant to be all about nostalgia, and my nostalgia completely disappeared when I realized that the next MK will more than likely be back to introducing rubbish new characters who everybody hates, ridiculous plotlines, and Onaga. /rant

Sadly, yeah, he did. You can see him in the Neatherealm, about to attack Raiden before he disappears. But, yeah, WORST DEATH in the game, imho. Maybe he had suffered damage or something up to that point?

why didnt kabal just run
I think NRS wanted to shock fans but got lazy with how they planned on doing it
 
Went back and looked- 2 things come to mind about Sub-Zero's "death".

A: His soul's form in Neatherealm is as a cyborg- Does that mean his human form is on Earthrealm somehow, or that his human soul is? I mean, why would he stay as a cyborg in "Hell"?

B: Seriously, how were 3 punches supposed to kill him? Could it be that he was "knocked offline" as a cyborg, and they could reactivate him, returning his soul in Earthrealm? Everyone else gets a more dramatic sendoff, if you will- Boot heel to throat, crushing of rib cage, face smashed in, heart torn out, soul destroyed. Three punches can kill Cyber Sub-Zero when combined Kintaro and Goro cannot? I call bogus.

It was a bit like how Palpatine killed all the Jedi in the last crappy star wars prequel.

BUT they aren't dead....I was shocked without a doubt but this opens so many doors for a sequel and going completely new directions with characters, its actually exciting to me.

@sex0r, dude there is more nostalgia here than any other game in the last 10 years has had besides New Super Mario Bros. It's at least a two year development cycle so you have plenty of time so save up some dough for a sequel.
 
OK there are 15 death in this game not counting Elder Sub-Zero and no one seems to be talking about a few of them. The list is in order.

1. Kung Lao

3. Shang Tsung
4. Noob Saibot
5. Kabal
6. Stryker
7. Sub-Zero
8. Jax
9. Smoke
10. Jade
11. Nightwolf
12. Sindel
13. Kitana
14. Liu Kang
15. Shao Kahn
 
- Smoke cannot die, technically, he is not human ...... his Ladder ending explain that. I doubt a neck broken is enough to kill him ..... he can reform himself.

- CSZ, Kabal, Stryker, dead ? Very unlikely : Sindel was being random who she was chosing to kill in gruesome way .... the damage done to these 3 characters , I think , could not kill none of them, besides, CSZ is a cybernetic organism, he can only die if totally destroyed or very heavily damaged , and so, if he just was just knocked down, he can come back and fixed, back to "working status" ..... he was beat in story mode and returned once his program "rebooted".

- Ermac, Baraka, Sheeva, Mileena, Reptile, seems to be very well alive after all ..... hehe
