General game balance.

Hi guys!

I have a friend who play Deathstroke. I am not a pro or nothing near of this, but Deathstroke seems extremely unbalance to me.
I lost some fights and change to Deathstroke also to do my own zoning tactics and my god! I easily won.

What do you guys feel about balance of this game?

Deathstroke is the least of this games issues. People just call him OP because he is used alot.

Raven can grab you full screen, both ground and air (not sure if there's a height limit though)

Doomsdays Supernova is shocking, you can avoid it with a forward dash but the timing it so strict and the hitbox laughably large you'll get faceplanted 98% of the time.

These are the things that give me hemorrhoids, not DS. (Although I do have trouble with him as Harley at full screen as I find her dash quite fiddly so i'll have to find other ways to counter him in practice, but as the Flash I don't find his pressure hard at all, its easy to call out)

It's Injustice - there is no balance. It supposed to be over the top non stop action with all hell breaking lose... besides the game has enough balance.... if you are talking beams

It doesn't reach full screen and she can only grab you in the air relatively low to the ground. Also her Soul Crush has a lot of recovery when blocked.

Doomsday's Supernove is easily dashable. Just go into practice mode and record him doing it. You'll get the timing in no time.

I dont have much problem against Doomsday.
My friend plays Raven also, but her zoning capabilities is much worse than Deathstroke.
Play against a Deathstroke smart player is very hard.

The game is relatively unbalanced. Depending on the playstyle of the characters, the game gives some characters an unexpected unfair advantage. For instance, Superman, a strength buff, has most of his prowess using heat vision from across the screen. Deathstroke has a mean lame game, however, he has a ridiculous amount of mix-ups up close. His set-ups for when you are getting up are sporadic and unpredictable if you haven't already telegraphed his moves. Smart Doomsday players know when to poke you, and the super armor for that character is almost impossible to deal with. The fact that every character has pretty much the same speed of dash- and length, makes running away and getting close to characters with range advantage incredibly difficult. The biggest fault of this game IMO if the lack of ability to air block.

Many people complain about my main, Aquaman, being broken because of his "slippery" hero trait. There is an easy way to deal with this- lame, juggling, and grabs. Although it's a pretty good trait, it doesn't stop a mix-up from happening into an juggling combo, or a grab combo like Grundy has. What makes Aquaman extremely good in this game- is he can convert off of most of his attacks. For his set-ups he has a low, med, and high conversions that can lead to a minimum of 32% with no MB. His medium-close range trident let's him poke enemies from a safe distance, and he can do it fast too. With unsuspecting projectile moves, he is really broken. If he isn't already being zoned.

The game is broken when you consider lame, but when the fight gets up close it's a bit balanced, albeit Deathstroke and Aquaman are really good up close.

This is one thing I will never get used too. I am primarily a Blazblue player and I love the air mobility in that game, air dashing, air blocking, air cancelling.

If Injustice just added something as simple as an air dash for some of the characters who have a hard time full screen to gain distance it would go a long way. Air mobility (or lack of) in this game is hard to get used too. Its just basically "Jump, Medium, Combo". Theres no real strategies to think about.

But alas, they can't exactly patch in an qir dash so it'll never happen. My worries will go unheard :(

Adding either would drastically change the base dynamics of the game, they would be better off making adjustments then adding either.

Nice post.
Do you mind to explain me Snake, what exactly Aquaman trait do please?

I wouldn't even go as far as saying the game is broken. Is there a significant lean towards zoning tactics? You bet your ass there is. But a lot of characters have significant tools to get in on said zoners. Ares springs to mind right away, and I've personally had some success at getting in with Shazam. And I can list off others that are more than capable of doing it with ease. And once you do get in, a lot of zoners will crumble, and that's when you have your way with them and start dealing the damage. The solution is simple, know your character and said characters tools.

Aquaman's trait is the ability to block at any point during a combo while on the ground. His MB version is super-armor like Doomsday. The trait lasts roughly 3-4 seconds MB or not.

I thought it was at first but it's not. Aquaman's actual trait ability is to able to recover more quickly from hits by the opponent except when juggled in the air.

I think it might technically mean the same thing, I always manage to block after the first hit or immediately when I activate it. This happens to me all the time so I think it's still correct.

Nowadays, any fighter that doesn't immediately and regularly "fix" things in the game that fans whine about is considered "broken" or "unbalanced."

If anyone wins anyone then the game is broken. In a balanced game everyone would be equal thus every match would end in a tie.

Not necessarily. If that were the case, all mirror matches would be a tie also. Even if two players are the same skill level and pick the same character, one person will always make more mistakes than the other or have great reads. Deathstroke is mid to top mid at best.
