Frost (DLC) Thread - "Could Frost merely be hibernating?"

And with the CSZ scans giving us a glimpse of her in the game, youd think she'd eventually become part of the storyline and most likely playable, whether now or next game

Yeah, her story could take a much different path this time, especially if Sektor's ending is canon. That would be an interesting mentor to have for a woman so driven by a lust for power lol.
 
Yeah Sektors ending did give a hint to a possible storyline which would be pretty cool.

Even though we have SZ as a main character, we still know very little about the LIn Kuei. Obviously we know of the few characters (it was nice to see cyrax and sektor before the transition) that we have been able to play, and MKM:SZ explained a little bit about the past, but there is so much left to explore. I just feel that Frost is the natural next step in telling that story.

And with the actual ending in this game explaining why quan chi was there (you know who showed up), the whole MKM:SZ storyline may be used again.
I guess i just enjoy the Lin Keui story and would love to have those characters in there

I'd really like to see the Lin Kuei's story fleshed out a bit. I appreciate the mystery shrouding them, but as a writer myself it really feels like a story untold lol. The Cyber Initiative alone would be a really cool story and that's just one part of the Lin Kuei's history.
 
To be honest I kinda wish they'd write this character off...She's nothing more than a clone. But seeing how she is shown on the PIT in MK9 I will say her chances look good for MK10.
 
Frost is not a clone. Who cares if shes part of the same clan as Subby? No one complained when they made Kenshi. (note I love kenshi, just stating a fact) Kenshi has essentially the same moves as Ermac. Like people were stating earlier, there are atleast 5 characters that have fire moves in there move list. The more characters the better :)

How is she not a clone? I'm not saying you're wrong, I've stated multiple times in this thread that I think she has potential if done right, but I'd like to hear what you dig about her. The more support offered for your opinion, the better.
 
Well for starters shes a TOTAL babe :D Hahaha
I mean they could easily just take some classic sub zero moves that were not added into mk9 and make them hers. For example the move where sub would make an iceberg deal and it would fall on you.
Maybe a backflip kicking move that freezes the opponent? Idk NRS could be very creative with her.
 
is it not obvious that she is dlc? shes in the back of the pit now.
along with havoc, skarlet, some wierd tall white guy with a red robe, and kenshi

Havik has in no way shape or form been confirmed and I believe Boon said he was unlikely. Daegon is also fighting back there and I can't imagine him being put in as DLC. Frost fighting in the background of the Pit doesn't necessarily mean anything...
 
Excuse my ignorance...

Who used to be the original fighters on the Pitt Stage in the background?
Were they given actually official names?

Did they ever have a storyline within the game at all?

Blaze and Hornbuckle. Blaze went on to have a really important role in future games, especially in Armageddon. Hornbuckle on the other hand...never made another official appearance since then lol.
 
I highly doubt Frost will be DLC. My bet is that she'll be in MK10. It will be her and Cyber Sub-Zero. That's right, no regular Sub-Zero (other than maybe an alt for CSZ like Cyrax and Sektor).

If I had to put money down, I would choose Reiko as the ???.

Story-wise, I could see you being right. However, I cannot imagine NRS not making a non-canon playable Human Sub-Zero. To not do so would piss off sooo many fans and would put one of their falgship characters in an unrecognizable position, just doesn't make too much sense to me.
 
Maybe in MK10 Frost could help restore CSZ back to normal SZ. We saw them become cybers, now lets se then be reformed.

Then they can take on the Lin Kuei together and become grandmaster. I liked seeing sektor and cyrax as humans too. I know they are lin kuei but they never really did fit a lin keui story. they always seemed to have something to do with special forces or something.

Make Frost and sareena (that ties in quan chi again) characters that help restore them and if you want Frost to be evil then make it so she needs them for her own intentions.
* Sorry, I just realised that it was original SZ/noob that sareena met. Oh well, maybe he restores them for some reason


p.s. i wouldnt mind seeing hornbuckle as a playable character one day. Who would have thought a background character would become and iconic part of MK. (only in the way of being known as 'that' character from the pitt stage)

Can I just say something I thought of?

I truely think Frost WILL be a Cyborg later on; Yes, she was found by Sub Zero and trained, but wasn't Subby the Grandmaster? Now that Sektor is the Grandmaster, and Sektor is big on Robofication.... I think Cyber Sub Zero will truely be Cyber Frost in MK10. And with Subby dead, he's going to get rezzed somehow and probably unroboed.

Of course, I don't know the story that much, so I may be wrong.
