Freezing at title Screen (PS3)

I installed the most recent software update that was pushed out and now, every time I start the game, it freezes on me.

I press start, it goes to the menu, then flashes the "hdd read" icon and freezes and i have to reset the console. Playstation says to contact WB, and WB hasn't responded yet.

Anyone else getting freezing problems? I haven't seen anyone b*tch about it so I doubt it. Somehow deep down in my heart, I knew that my PS3 would crap out when MK finally came.

Try without connecting to the internet hapned to me once.
 
One thing you should try is setting up your ps3 sign in for psn to manual not auto that way you can rule out dns or other online issues especially if you use wireless.
 
I had the same problems as well. I wonder if I can trust NetherRealms Studios? For the next DC fighting game, I'm not quite sure if I should buy from them or not.
