For how long you will keep coming back to MK9 ?

I traded in all of my console games (I never really kept many, not bg on collecting) for MK9's TE in order to get it free of charge.
This way I know me and my roommate won't have any choice but to only play MK and the very few classic arcade games I have on my account (super meat boy, impossible game, hard-as-nails platformers). It should last us a good year at least, until a new installment gets released.

PS I see some people here still play MK2 or other old school MKs. Shows the power of KOMBAT =) I played those for years!

As long as its a great game in my eyes n they keep adding content until hopefully another release, ill constantly keep playing it.

Overall game, MK9 is on a different level than all fighting games. Everything looks better in all areas. I'll be playing this game forever

Hopefully I'll be playing it longer than I played Deception (Which was the longest I played a Mortal Kombat game without getting bored, at about 1 1/2 years). It does seem like I will be playing this for a long time with all of the unlockable things you can get (In the Krypt and Hidden), the Challenge Tower missions, the fact that you can play all 4 of the "Test Your ____ " modes right there in the main menu instead of only playing them on Arcade Mode, as well as online gaming. Plus, the DLC we'll be getting will add even more to that.

Depends on how well the game turns out gameplay wise. Extra content like story mode and all is great but f the game itself turns out to be shallow then I probably wont play for more than a few weeks tbh.

I'll be playing this game till my unborn child will be 7 years old and ima teach him daddy's best tricks....after he does his homework and do good in school of course. respect.

LMAO. This game doesnt look shallow at all. Have u even been watching the gameplay videos? Between single play and tag team and the amount of depth to each kharacter, We have plenty to keep us busy for a long time.

Since university gets 4 months off, I'll be playing for a solid 4 months and will probaly go back and forth depending on games coming out once fall comes round. It just really sucks that I have 3 exams back to back to back a week after the game comes out...it will be a hard week for me

first fighting game i played was street fighter on arcade, then megadrive then continued to play it on PS1 with X plus alpha, so around 4-5 years on that, (dont play any street fighters anymore, the new ones suck imo with stupid characters) :(

i played tekken on ps1 then tekken 2, never played any of the newer ones cos i got bored of it and was too slow, so around a year for that one.
i played soulblade for ps1, then soul calibour on dreamcast, again eventually got board of the fighting engine and the fact you can win by pressing one button repeatedly. around 2 years on that (never really played the newer ones or cared)

played MK1 on megadrive, was very young so the fatalities were the best thing ever but didnt care for the look or gameplay of the game, then played MK2 on megadrive and loved it much more, better detail and gameplay and was hooked from then on,
then went onto mk3 for megadrive, loved it even more it was faster and had better gameplay and cool new charactors, then went to UMK3 which was pretty much the same but still cool, then i went to MK trilogy on ps1, played it to fu*k and loved it and still play it, i also still play UMK3 today online on gens emulator and love every second

so ive been playing MK since day one for 19 years straight :) (didnt play any of the newer ones coz they sucked big balls)

i would like to think ill continue playing MK till my death bed old or new, (gotta good feeling about this new game having a very lengthy and satisfying gameplay for years to come, and if they step it up with an MK 10 heaven help us! :)

It really depends on how much content the game has, and its replayability. For as long as there is stuff to unlock, little secret things to find and just generally fun gameplay, I'll keep coming back. But fighting games don't appeal to me the way they used to back in the old days.

Frankly, Mortal Kombat as a whole lost me when they transitioned to 3D. The longest that a 3D MK lasted for me was roughly 22 days, and that was MK Deception. In those 22 days I played the hell out of the game, but past that time, it was done. Deadly Alliance was barely 3 weeks. Armageddon...even less. MK v DC kept me entertained for about as long as Deception, and I played I also played the hell out of it because I liked it.

Fighting games in general just don't grip me...it's a very repetetive and short-term genre. The reason that MK1 - MK3 kept me going for YEARS was because I grew up with those games, and I was young when they first came out...the violence was unique to MK and slowly started trickling into other games at the time, but let's face it folks...fatalities were the main draw for MK when it first hit. Now that so many games are goretastic, MK needs more than blood and guts to keep us occupied. This game looks like it will do so, and I'll find out in 7 hours. But I anticipate this game will last me roughly a month, then I'll probably be done with it.

A loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time! My mom loves mk so she will always ask be to play mk with her! My grandpa will play with mk with me too! (His favorite character is Nightwolf!)
