First Review 9.5/10

I take IGN reviews with a BIG BAG of salt.
They've given games that I really liked a 7.5 or 8.0, when in reality they should have been either 8.5 or 9.0.

I'll judge the game for myself in 4 hours anyways, as IGN doesn't know what the F*** they're talking about, when it comes to Mortal Kombat.

Agreed. It seems to me that IGN just doesen't like Mortal Kombat period.

I'll take Game Informer's word. They usually know what they're talking about.

I personally don't care about reviews but always check them out to see what the general consensus is.

It's always good to see our favorite games get high scores because it means the mainstream audience is more likely to adopt the game thus increasing sales significantly and allowing the development of future games in the franchise.

That, and it gives the game publicity. I think the MK team did well in that department though, considering their budget.

The reviews I am myself going to check are IGN, GameSpot, Eurogamer, Giant Bomb and 1Up.
Giant bomb will surely do a broadcast of anywhere from 30 to 1h30 of the game as a review on top of their written review, and are generally less biased than other sites lately.
I read 1Up just for giggles and never really trust their reviews.
As for IGN and Gamestop, they'll give a pretty similar score, like they always do, and nitpick on small details.
Finally, Eurogamer tend to be REALLY severe when it comes to games, which I really like since there's not many websites brave enough to be as direct. I think they'll give it a fair score, though.

Those 2 8/10 reviews were retarded. The first one OXM didn't mention anything negative at all in the entire article and then said it had a lousy interface (how?). How does a poor interface knock a game 2 points down? The second one, the guys main complaint was that it was too in depth and he sucked at it....HAHA wtf kind of complaint is that.

Thats like playing a strategy game and saying you're not very good but good players will love it and then take points off because of it. So stupid. I have yet to see a valid criticism.

Ditto to this post. Eurogamer is my favorite and I live in Florida. Khanada check out attackofthefanboy.com. They have a cool review format. Also a lot of good news for daily reading.

according to that review mortal kombat still isn't that competitive with the quote " It has been a notorious button masher where even the lowest level beginners can come in, deal serious damage, and get their 25 cents worth of gore. This is still the case with this iteration of Mortal Kombat." hope he's a dumb shit and doesn't know what he talkin about

yeah, i didn't quite understand the review...mk online works as smooth as you'd expect from a 2player online game. he said in the review its very sluggish....he must be missing a patch or something? also, "endless amount of unlockable content=8,5" guess i dont understand.

ah well, ryan sucks at reviewing cult games anyways.

I honestly can't wait for Yahtzee's Review, personally.

Might not happen, Yahtzee is an Australian. I'm sure he could probably get a copy of the game anyway, but in the past he has usually waited until a game got an Australian release before reviewing it instead of importing it, so who knows.

As for reviews, 1up is the reviews I trust the most, then Gamespot and Giant Bomb, then probably IGN after that.

Wow, IGN gave MK a 8.0 out of 10 in a 20 point scale? That´s 16/20. Unbelievably stupid, I only needed to play the demo to know that this is at least +9. Well, what can you expect from that ****ing website that said that Fallout 3 was a "brilliant reinvention" of the classic series. They just don´t get cult classics.

It's obvious any reviewer who says MK is a button masher where noobs can be godlike is a downright SF fanboy (sf is a great game, don't get me wrong) or hasn't played the game at all. I'm pretty sure we all agree that all it takes to beat a spammy, jumpy noob is the knowledge of the existence of the block button and some patience.

Jeez, some people...

Anyways, a few more hours, KOMBAT!

he lives in australia so im not sure if he will review it, though he told others to import it to send a message i can see our goverment arresting him if he reviews a video game that is banned over here(i mean i can seriously see them doing that) hopefully he will review it though, i think he will review it in 3 weeks or so because this week he will review a game that was possible to buy after last thursday and this week he will review portal 2(loves the first one) so hopefully after that he will review mortal kombat

EDIT: sorry its already been said i missed that post somehow
