Fake Anime

I'm not particularly an anime fan, just a fan of cartoons in general. but recently i've noticed a lot of 'fake' anime being tossed about i.e. Jackie Chan Adventures, Totally Spies, Teen Titans etc. it's just pissing me off, and i wanna know if anyone else has noticed it.

for the record, teen titans is actually pretty cool, but just cos raven is in it and she rules
 
I never thought anybody else would notice that, so kudos, Yes, that is very annoying.Teen Titans is trying VERY hard to make it an anime, because the theme song is even in Japanese, sometimes. The rest are just annoying, try watching Nickelodeon's Avatar.
 
Terrible!!! teen titans.. totaly spies all those crap shows. there just trying to make "age approprite" anime but in reality its just crap
 
Being a anime fan I hear other anime fans ranting about this all the time. No this is not news to me.

Teen Titians the comic is very intereasting. But Teen Titians the cartoon (it has a comic too called 'Teen Titians Go!') is not done in the same style.

By the way, Japanese band Hi! Hi! Puffy Ami Yumi are the singers for the show. They are Japanese and Cartoon network (Time Warner) like to make a fuss of them. They even have their own show they made to show them off in. But I think they were a hit in Japan back in 1995.
 
Although i am not a fan of those shows, besides TT, my little bros are getting a healthier dose of japanese style anime, and since these shows they have had an interest in my inuyasha DVD and saturday nights on adult swim...which BTW is being returned to comedy. That really sucks, since the line up they had was amazing.
 
Unfortunately, I live in a place that is now full of Fake Anime. Right now their is only 7 japanese anime shows left in my area and 3 of them are very old; Inu Yasha, .Hack, Dragon Ball + Z and GT,(They are so old) Gundam Seed and Hamtaro(I don't even like seed or Hamtaro) compared to years ago when their was instead of Seed, Wing. Also back then their was also Naruto(was on for a week then was off due to popular demand), Zoids and the short lived Esclaflowne.
 
In the UK:

Fake animes:

-Witch
-Martin Myseteries
-Teen Titians
-Hi! Hi! Puffy Ami Yumi show
-Totally Spies
-Megas XLR
-Xialin showdown

Real animes showing:

-Beyblade
-B-Daman
-Dragonball (Z and GT too)
-sonic X
-Yu-gi-oh
-Pokemon (Like hell their showing everywhere!!!!)
-Digimon
-Big O
-Transformers Engergon.
-One piece (or as some people call the english dub- one Piece of crap).

I think I got these all right, I don't exactly pay much attention to schedules anymore.

Shut up, Megas XLR rocked and you know it. I love anime, but there aren't much good American shows on Cartoon Network and that's getting to me. The only good show on there is Justice League Unlimited. Don't get me wrong, I do like Teen Titans, if only for the really good plotlines that come around once in a while, but I want more shows like JLU. Also, in my opinion, the only American made show that's captured the "essence" of most anime is Avatar: The Last Airbender. When I first saw it, I really thought it was a dub of a Japanese-produced show. Go figure.
 
Im so pist about that, the lineup was soooooo good: Inuyasha(who is tattoed on my back), samurai champloo, paranoia agent, S-cry-ed, FlCl, and my personal favorite, Trigun.


i was creaming my pants for the past 2 weeks, cause all of my favorite adult swim anime was all together, but they said the ratings tanked and its back to comedy. :x

Are they at least gonna finish Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent. Those were favorites. :x
 
None of those ahows have appeared here in the UK. I've seen a few RTL 2 on the old saterlite system I have.

Soeaking of which, if you think fake animes are bad in english... Wait til you hear them in another language. You'll come to the conclusion nothing can get worst.

Edit:

I also missed something. There are certain things in anime that Western dubbers and fake anime creators misinterupt. Basically, everything from the face to the colours the characters wear is symbolic. If you know what they mean, you know what is so special about them. Western people have difficulty understand these symbolic trades in anime, so as in Teen titians, will over use them or use them where not suppose to.

I'm actually kind of glad that I've already watched all of Samurai Champloo, so w00t to me for that, and about Paranoia Agent, I can probably find a torrent somewhere. It's also a good thing I've already watched all of Trigun in its original run and have FLCL saved on my computer. S-cry-ed is no big loss. =/
 
Yeah....if you want to watch real anime, not this crappy kiddie sh!t, watch adult swm around 1am to 4 am


good stuff, the real stuff too


teen titans sucks and isnt anime, its like disney
