Hey guys,

you noticed at the begin of the "Liu Kang Combo Video", that Raiden said to Kang something like this?:

"Beware Liu Kang, he is unlike anything you fought before"....
than Liu Kang answered:
"Only one fight remains..face me in MK"

The combatant is Ermac, as you can see in the video after it.

Does it mean, that Ermac is one of the last combattants in the story mode? (but maybe before Goro, Shang Tsung and Kahn) or just in Liu Kang's story mode??
 
No, I believe its Raiden speaking about shang tsung in the story mode. I very much doubt its ermac, its just how they edited the video.
 
I think what Raiden says happens during Story Mode and what Liu Kang says is his intro quote. It doesn't really mean anything in regards to where Ermac is in Story Mode.
 
...just because trailer shows Kang fighting Ermac right after he said that...it doesn't necessary mean Raiden was talking about Ermac...
 
I don't know if it's actually Shang Tsung...The backdrop behind Liu Kang when he say's his line is the same arena where he immediately begins fighting Ermac. If they truly did show Liu's last fight, it couldn't possibly be Shang because old Shang is sitting right in his chair watching Ermac and Liu fight.

i just watched it again and you're right - didnt see shang there the first time or pay attention to the backdrop as he was talking

but that also doesn't mean Raiden was talking about Ermac, as those who he never fought before...
 
All I know is that after seeing that fake fatality that one dude made, I think I might have a soft spot in me heart for that Djinn lookalike.
 
i think that the short video when you hear them talking isnt connected to the fight after it... they just showed off ermac because he is a newly revealed character...
 
Pretty sure that bit was at the end of the first Mortal Kombat, and Liu is about to fight Shang Tsung.

Ermac is looking very fun to play as, and I love his strike animations. Reminds of a Snake or Mantis style...
 
Did you notice in Noob's vignette, when Ermac uses his telekinesis, green skulls start swirling around his hand at 37 sec into the video. Got to love these little touches!
 
It could just be editing, but keep in mind that Ermac's back story is that he is, or rather "They are" a collective of many, many souls of dead warriors that Shao Kahn has formed into one, ultra-powerful being. So by right, Ermac should very well be an opponent unlike any Liu has faced before. Maybe Ermac's existance in this game is a little more threatening, more powerful. Maybe he's one of the first powerful sub-boss characters you face in story mode.

But then I'm probably reading too much into it.
