The fact that they are ninjas is one thing they have in common. If you can lump them all together as ninjas to say they're awesome, then the opposite side of the coin would be that they're all ninjas and therefor having so many of them (~20% of the roster) is going overboard with a single category of fighter. UMK3 was scolded a bit for having so many ninjas. It's all a matter of opinion. If you're a ninja fan then having so many fighters that fall under that archetype is great, if ninja's aren't your shtick then it's a bit overkill.

I've personally liked ninjas since I started back in MKII, but not everyone sees them as the best characters in the series. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Yh there is always someone taht dont like that there is so many ninjas in teh game I for example hate the fact that there are so many kitana copies in the game.

Kitana, Mileena, Jade and now Skarlet.

TBH i dont like the girls in MK. Id quit Mileena, Jade, Sindel, Sonya, Sheeva (if thats a girl lol)

People dont like that there are so many ninjas, well i dont like that there are so many girls, id only keep Kitana in the roster, she is the best IMO.

Considering what happens at the end of story mode, and her connection to two (formerly three) of the characters, I think she is potentially very important.

Lol im not sexist, no way that, very far from that.

But I dont like them in MK because they have a fighting style i really dont like, they are armed fighters and i dont like em (like i dont like armed male fighters either, nightwolf, kabal, etc), I only like elemental fighters thats why im looking at skarlet for what we saw she seems to be an elemental fighter and i hope she is because ill use her then.
I only like Kitana dont know why maybe because i like color blue, but she seems the best girl in MK to me.

Lol the tiara doesnt bother me, what i dont want is the cape lol looks so lame...

What im worried is him being unmasked that'd suck badly, in Sindel's ending he doesnt wear a mask and im afraid he come as DLC without it...

Ahhh, I see. Well Jade's staff is elemental, or you could even say supernatural, and so are a few of her special attacks like the shadow kick. Then again her fighting style is mostly about her weapon, like you said.

Sonya is my fave MK woman though, her military fighting style is brutal. :twisted:

Sonya is a another cathegory I think there are 4 characters cathegory.

Elemental chars.
Armed chars.
Energy chars.
Physical chars.

I think Sonya is a physical char. along with Jax and Kano, and Jade is a mix of energy and armed but i think that she qualifies like an armed char.
 
Mixed like Kira. Kira has Kano fighting style which is physical and armed with Kano's Butterfly Knives which shows to be that she is an armed and possesses Sonya's Kiss of Death move which I think is elemental and her tumbling leg grab from Sonya which physical too.

Sonya's kiss is more like energy, elemental are natural things like ice, water, fire, acid, smoke, even shadow but energy i consider it different. And yeah tehre some fighters that are mixed.

True, because everybody has to still be able to throw punches and kicks out there (physical). But I'd say there are some characters that you could put pretty firmly in one category if necessary. Sub-Zero bases all of his specials, and some of his combos, off ice. Noob is the same with shadows, as is Smoke with...well...smoke lol. Jax can throw some energy around, but his fighting is very much based around the fact that he is the Strongest Man On Earth.

So most everyone (though Kano, I believe, is exclusively physical) has some mixing, but if you had to make some categories to define them, some fit quite snugly in.

That's my opinion, at least.
