Do you need to master every character before you can be good with shang tsung?

What I want to know is, when shang tsung morphs into a character for example, Noob Saibot, do you need to learn how noob plays?

Shang's 3 hit combo is EX) Front punch, back punch, back punch(PS3: square, triangle triangle, X360: X, Y, Y)

When shang morphs into noob saibot, is the button phrase for noob's 3 hit combo the same as shang's?

No Shang Tsung has some wicked combos all on his own! And if you do morph into your opponent I think just know the basics will be good enough seeing as the morph doesnt last that long anyways.

dmn that sucks. Hes pro character then.... seeing his fire balls already make my brain hurt.

Thats where Ive been able to pull off more if his long string combos are from his ground skulls! Try practicing with those you honestly just need some basic knowledge on each character if you happen to morph

Here is what im guna do. I am going to master shang's combos and skull ablities. After that, I'll move on to shang's morph.

1 more question, can i be good at shang without morphing? IMO i think its possible since his skulls are beast. Shang can dish out 40% without enhanced skulls or morph. So I would say Shang's strengths were intended to be his skulls, enhanced skulls, and morph.

Yes see thats the thing you really dont need the morph at all to be a beast with Shang Tsung with those skulls and other moves you can pull of some wicked moves and some long combos that involve low,mid attacks to keep your opponent guessing!

Seems to make sense. After all morph does not last long. Shang is able to dish out 40% combos without enhanced skulls or morph. So I believe skulls are shang's bread and butter. They come from almost every direction(TOP, BOTTOM, FORWARD) and also at every distance. But I have to say morph is really safe. It's fast, it heals, and you get enhanced damage.

although you dont NEED to use his morph abilitiy, i would be a good thing to know how to use if you were in a bad matchup. im guessing.

It is hard to not use morph since there are so many pros to it. Morph is one of the safest specials, it heals shang, and it also enhances shang's combos. there is just too much to just ignore morph.

ShangTsun has by far the best Taunt at beginning of the Round! "Your Soul is mine!" And his Eyes during this, just awesome. :D I think learning the specials is enuff, formt he other characters.

As far as I can tell he's got enough in his arsenal to do well enough without morphing. Never the less, once I can pull off an 11 hit combo consistently, and use the skull summon defensively, I'll move on. That's my strat.

He's got a great moveset, so I don't see the need to "master" the rest of the cast. Being proficient with them won't hurt, but it's far from a necessity.

I've always wanted to be good at Shang, so that if I face someone who chooses a character I know, I could pick Shang then morph into my main and do work.
