Demo Help Needed

Hey guys, so I got the demo last night but only had maybe an hour to mess around with it (I'm married with kids and last night got busy)... I mostly had just enough time to see it, pull off a few moves and very small combos, execute some fatalaties, and turn it off. I have some basic questions that I didn't see immediate answers to in the moves list and what not. Thanks in advance!

:questionmark::questionmark::questionmark::questionmark::questionmark::questionmark::questionmark:
1. Breakers: Is there a specific button to press for combo breakers? I didn't see this in the moves list. I'm thinking it's the "throw" button but I'm not sure (and the "medium" AI wasn't exactly dishing out the big combos so I could experiment).

2. Combos/Juggle Starters: So I used Sub-Zero a lot and had a hard time getting juggles in my brief play time. I saw some video where it looks like the freeze, then jump straight up and punch was a good juggle starter. Played one time with Scorpion and it looks like some of his base moves pop up the character for juggles... so I guess the question is does the game have some very basic juggle/combo starters that are common, or does each character have their own starters. Any other advice/tips you have for combos are welcome (or if you can link to a thread specifically talking about this) cause I'm not the greatest with fighting games... I'm awesome in COD though!!!!

3. Forest Fatality: The only fatalaty I couldn't get to work... I'm guessing it was left out of the demo.

And yes, I will be getting the strategy guide when the game come out cause I'll need all the help I can get. Thanks fellas and ladies!

1) breakers are done the same way as before. Hold block and press toward.

2) Sub Zero was the hardest for me to do combos. Everyone is different, you just have to play with what they have. Scorpion was by far the easiest to string together short combos, popups, specials.

3) Forest Fatality was either left out of the demo or it's done in a weird way that so far as we know... nobody has figured out. I believe it's just not in there.

Hope that helps!

If i recall, you have to push towards the opponent while hitting that button.

Im sure there are threads here, but the best advice i can give related to combos is to experiment, experiment, experiment. Every character (if you pull up the move list while playing) will have some basic stuff to get you going but the fighting system is designed to allow alot of flexibility for us to add our own extenders, and finishers to the combos.

I dont think anyones pulled this one off yet....i dont think its active in the demo

I believe the combo breaker was = Forward+Block

I think each character has their own starters.
You should be able to see the combo starters in the pause menu.

I believe so too.
The only Stage Fatality (as per the pause menu), seems to be The Pit Fatality.

Yea, Sub-Zero was the only one out of the 4 who is giving me fits as far as combos go, ill have to put some more time into him tonight.

That's funny y'all say sub-zero is difficult for combos since he was practically the only fighter I used. Maybe I'll start with Scorpion and get really good and use to the new system with him before moving on.

Y'all pretty much answered my questions so thanks.

One last question that I thought about... on the moves list I saw something listed next to some moves that said "Dash to Cancel". What does that mean???? I'm thinking that I'm behind on some of this because I haven't played any MK games much since UMK3.

Has anyone tried doing the stage fatality in the Living Forest while in front of the tree with blood on it's mouth? It's on the right side of the arena. I mentioned this in the chat yesterday, but I don't know if anyone tried it yet.

You "dash" by double-tapping towards your opponent.

Rigt, I actually knew that... but how do you "dash cancel" a move. This text was next to the longer "power punch" type move that I believe each character has. So is this a way to cancel the long animation by dashing? I tried that but it didn't seem to work... then again, like I said, my time with the game was limited.

That's a good idea... I tried 2-3 times at different ranges and couldn't get it to work. It does say "varies" for the distance on the stage fatalaties on the moves list.... wouldn't be surprising if certain stage fatalaties require you to be at a certain spot on the screen. As it is, most people figure this kind of stuff out really easy, but as far as I know nobody has found it yet. There is a good chance this was left out of the demo.

Lets see if I can keep this simple, lets say your throwing a punch, depending on the context of the move on what its asking you to do you can double tap forward as soon as either A. you press the punch (1-3 frames in) or as soon as the punch connects.

I didnt get a chance to experiment with any of that last night, I was more focused on just getting the basics down but this should help you.

I also need some help. Could someone please get the Playstation Network back online. This is what I get for waiting a day to get the demo. :(

In the Kombat Kontinues video... where Jade has the tree fatality done to her, has anyone set up the distance and placement exactly how the video was?
