In my constant quest for things to ocupy my time ive decided im gonna collect and piece together all the necessary parts to build MK 1-4 coin ops and have them lined up ready to play 24/7, an awesome prospect that ive only now decided to actually carry out.

Ive searched round a few places and found a couple of the PCB's (circuit boards that contain the game information)

does anyone have any idea where i could get hold of cheap jamma cabinets and monitors?

This may sound crazy or just plain stupid but what the hell.

Any hints on where i can find all the parts then let me know!

eBay is probably the best place.

Also check out rec.games.video.arcade on Usenet and ask around there. Around 1996 the group was more focused on games and gameplay of various Arcade games, but over the years it has evolved into a newsgroup more towards the hardware aspect of Arcade games. If you're lucky, you'll catch a merchant selling off some cheap Arcade cabinet supplies as well.

i am in the middle of doing this as well. Here are the steps i have taken:
-I got a UMK3 board with control panel
-bought a aux wiring harness (for the run buttons)
-bought a complete mk2

I need a multijamma adapter now. Once i get that i will switch control panels (putting in the one for MK3/UMK3), and get someone to wire it up (i am still new to arcades). Best place to start is by buying a complete machine, try to get one in an original cabinet. It can sometimes be cheaper to piece it together (monitor, cab, pcb, ps, wires, cp, marquee), but i dont think its worth the time or effort. Get a complete one and then branch off. PM me if you need something specific.
