Boon interview with GI in regards to the Wii version

meh, am i the only one that doesnt care about MKA being on the Wii? It doesnt even thrill me any more then if they said it was going to come out on gamecube. Who cares?

i care :( i'm very excited. it'll prolly be the first game i own on the wii. if the gamecube of decpetion gave us two differnt characters. then i could only imagine what the wii would give us.

what COULD it give you? Khameleon, Monster, Tremor? nothing that great. If anything it would probably only have a couple new modes to take advantage of the controller, like Boon said.

No you're not, man. I couldn't care less about the new Wii system either, or the fact that MKA will be released on it. The only possible reason I would have to give a Rats Ass is if the Wii was the only games system I owned and that it was the only way to play MKA.

And even then, meh.

Edit: 7th, we will be able to make them anyways on the PS2 and the XBOX versions. I think that Monster would be possible.

well to me it doesnt matter. I'm excited about it. and what if it does gives us some "lame" characters. I'd still think it'd be worth it. reguardless of how insignificant they are to me it'd still be worth it. way worth it. and if they incorporate the controller in to it, it'd be loads of fun. if they offer new modes even better. I wouldnt personally get my hopes up for anything to big, but i will get my hopes for purchasing it next year.

As far as I can tell, the remote controller alone seems to be the only unique feature about the Wii system that Boon commented about being interested in utilising. Saying that he'd love to take full advantage of it. Other than that, the Wii won't get any extras over the current Sony and Microsoft consoles. The NGC is more powerful than the PS2, they just never developed MKA for that console.

Ah well, shit happens

Ok let's not get into a flame war about the Wii. I'm planning on getting all 3 varieties of MK:A this time around so I can say with definite gusto that I hope the Wii has something good to look forward to. I'm getting PS2 version for the Premium Edition, Xbox so I can actually play it, and the Wii just becuase...well...it's the Wii...and I like the way that sounds.

But in all seriousness I don't think this should cause any controversy or excitement. The Wii version will probably have some new minigames or features, but I doubt it will add anything to the mix in terms of story so we don't have to worry about another story disaster like with Shao Kahn and Goro (who I personally thought were very clearly dead at that point). It's just gonna be another version with a few new features, nothing major. If you like the Wii then get it, if you don't then don't. No need to argue the point.

Who's flaming here? I don't see anyone doing that; just an exchange of opinions.

Unless it's pushed back to Q2, I don't think there will be any worthy content added to the Wii version (unless it's going to be offline, then you'll probably see a new mode.. or perhaps UMK3 standard with each copy). It's basically the Nintendo version that's not seeing a release on the GC, so I say, why not? The true next gen MK will probably not even be on the Wii (Possible though, if a special version of the game was rebuilt for it).

And given time constraints, the remote won't be significantly utilized, if any. In fact, I find it odd that Boon actually considers that. The remote just isn't for fighting games that require finesse in controls (kind of like going back to those original SF cabinets with the huge buttons that you had to punch). Yes, I'm aware that the next SSB will use that, but that series has never been a true fighter along the lines of VF/Tekken/SC/SF etc. However they use the remote there, Nintendo fans will like it.

I'm getting the console for sure because of RE, but that series can benefit from the remote in a few ways. Likely late next year, since Capcom's FY 2006 forecast doesn't include any games for the consoles (it ends in March 2007). For everything else, it'll be a toss up between the PS3 and 360. I don't really own that many multiplatform games to begin with (or western ones for that matter).

It will be interesting to see how RE fares on the new Wii system. I am hoping that they utilise the unique controller for many games including the aforementioned RE games. I have no interest in the Wii. But it's about games, not consoles in my books. If Nintendo release games I want to play, then I'm in. Otherwise, nah.

I know you are purcahsing the PS3, when it's available, dude. So far, RE5 is a title I really must have. So I will have to buy a PS3 if I want to play it. Also, as you may or may not already know. David Jaffe [creator of god of war] my favourite game ever, has confirmed a 3rd God of War game exclusively for the PS3. So that alone will sell it for me.

Jaffe is an employee of SCEA so the next GOW or any game he makes will be for the PS3 or PSP. But RE5 is also on the Xbox 360 ;) With Tekken 6 inevitably delayed, I don't think I'll be picking up a PS3 anytime soon (it's a good thing too, since I'm curious how the launch will pan out in Japan).

Famitsu will be unveiling a big Capcom game exclusively next week (it's for an unspecified PS platform). Looking forward to that..

I hope it's the yet-to-be-revealed PSP DMC or the rumored RE for it. Either that, or the official unveiling of Monster Hunter 3 for PS3.
