I have an idea for a Shaolin Monks Sequel!!!

It should be a prequel to MK11 that's about Revenant Liu Kang and Revenant Kung Lao in the Netherrealm. Either escaping the revenant state or actually just events leading to MK11 even if both monks remain revenants.

Story Mode Characters:
Revenant Liu Kang
Revenant Kung Lao
Revenant Kitana
Dark Raiden
Jade (Unlocked after Kitana's story mode. Explains her whereabouts from MKX leading to MK11.)
Noob Saibot (Unlocked after Raiden's story mode. Explains her whereabouts from MKX leading to MK11.)

Versus Mode Characters:
Revenant Liu Kang
Revenant Kung Lao
Sub-Zero
Scorpion
Revenant Kitana
Dark Raiden
Revenant Kabal (Unlocked after beating Liu Kang's story mode.
Revenant Nightwolf (Unlocked after beating Raiden's story mode.)
Revenant Smoke (Unlocked after beating Jade's story mode.)
Revenant Sindel (Unlocked after beating Kitana's story mode.)
Sareena (Will be involved with Noob Saibot's story mode. Unlocked after beating Noob Saibot's story mode.)
Kung Jin (Will be the one helping Kung Lao, trying to help him get out of the revenant state. Unlocked after beating Kung Lao's story mode.)
Jade (Unlocked after beating her story mode.)
Noob Saibot (Unlocked after beating his story mode.)

I remember that a few months before MKX was being teased, Boon made a tweet with a pic of the Shaolin Monks strat guide on his desk saying "Who left this on my desk? Do they think we're doing an HD remake or something ;)"

Then nothing else on it was followed up. NRS usually says it works on other projects during the end of their current one. Wouldn't surprise me if SMHD was on the way to gauge interest in a sequel

Some of the most requested DLC characters are , once again, guests. Spawn and Joker. IF there is another Kombat Pack, I would hope there are no more guests being included.

I wanna say KP3, but after MKXL out, that kinda defeats the purpose for a 3rd one, even though they're probably coming out with one anyway.
Otherwise, MK11. I want to see the next storyline and roster pretty bad.

I doubt an hd remake since that was two generations ago and wouldn't really be anticipated to sell well. I think he's pushing for a sequel or some type of successor. I'm hoping for one too. Would love an action/RPG game set in the mk universe. It's why I use to love conquest mode in the old games.

I think it would sell amazingly well for a remake. With it being a Co-Op game, tons of streamers and Youtube Lets Players would give it exposure.

I would like a KP3 but I think these packs are way to expensive. In Europe it's twenty euro for four fighters. After purchasing KP2 I only use Triborg. In a KP3 I'd like to see Noob Saibot, Fujin, Reiko and Sindel. No more guests.

I still do not understand the outcome of the survey. More DLC rather than a new game? What I am glad it is so evenly matched that were MK11 and Shaolin Monks 2, because I have really wanted to return to see a spin-off.

why does it have to be one of the other? why not both? why cant MK11 be primarily a fighting game but have a more engaging in depth story mode where you can roam around vast 3d landscapes then when it comes to a conflict the camera pans back into 2D mode so you can fight like a normal MK game

i'd definitely want to play something like that...
problem is the timescales as that can take a lot of time to develop

Feature creeping can slow down development, or even kill a project, if not kept under control. All commercial products are developed within a time and money limit. An omnibus game that tries to do a little bit of everything usually leads to a half-baked game where ambition doesn't match the execution.

yup...exactly what i've meant...development hell or a half-assed game that's not worth a dime...pick your poison

yep... all valid points. its a shame

also..random thought...

noticed lately movie studios striking deals and joining forces to work together?...well imagine someone like Blizzard entertainment joining up with NRS to make an Epic as FUvk MK game. have Blizzard handle all the 3d roaming elements and NRS handle the 2D fighting side, this would potentially avoid one company struggling to do too much and half arsing it.

that would be pretty cool although i know its a long shot
